The only solder you ever need or should be using is Kester. Way better than your shack or box store brand.

63/37 is a good low melting point eutectic leaded solder. The flux is strong and makes for very good flow. Its a bit messy because it has a large 3.3% flux core but that means it gets the job done. My favorite solder to use since its so easy. The flux doesnt need to be cleaned according to the datasheet. Kester 44 and Kester 48 are my favorite.

Stuff isnt safe to breathe, probably not safe to handle for extended periods but its a fine solder. I use this on high quality electronics and to repair wave soldered boards and have made some nearly microscopic bonds with this stuff. It is predictable, hardens in a second and can be trusted.
