> 3 dayIve built motors, done extensive bodywork and made all kinds of modifications to vehicles. Sound deadening is by far my favorite. The install isnt fun by metric. First, uninstall your entire interior. Clean the inside of every panel with isopropyl alcohol. Grab a rolling pin (they make specific tools for this), cut your acoustic mat and be prepared to spend the next 8 hours in a sweaty and cramped position. Cover every square inch you can- it really does make a difference. Put in the hours here, and enjoy it for the rest of your vehicles ownership. Not only does this make your ride quieter, but it feels more luxurious, too, since the deadening material has the additional effect of quieting down interior trim rattles. My old Ford Ranger is now quieter on the highway than my BMW 5 series (seriously!). The 50mil Kilmat is not the thickest option, but it is an outstanding value when Dynamat will sell you the same basic product (foil-layered tar) for twice the price.

> 3 dayJust started applying and had to review! I have used other brands that cost more and they kilmat is equal in quality for the thickness lvl. Easy to apply, and now no tinny sound from my 54 year old car. I just hope they don raise the price like the other companies!

> 3 dayThis product worked great and allowed for ample time to make fine tune adjustments before adhering and the dimpled grid pattern helped with cutting so as not to waste time marking lines as well as allowing for expansion on curves and contours. This size works out perfect on hitting the sweet spot for efficiency and minimal scraps that will also get used along the way.

> 3 dayI had the rollup door on my Step Van removed, and replaced with diamond plate aluminum on steel studs, as you might imagine, this transmits sound pretty well. So I had Kilmat installed between the studs. If you knock on the back wall with your fist, it sounds like a dull thud on the inside rather than a tinny clang. Perfect.

> 3 dayThis product was easy to use and to place. Make sure you get some type of roller with the purchase.

> 3 dayIt is easy to handle, easy to cut, easy to apply just over all easy. The hardest part is probably the assembly and reassembly of your vehicle. I used this for my 2022 Nissan Altima.

Greater than one weekThe hardest part of the whole install was removing the headliner.

> 3 dayI guess I expected more. I even doubled up in some areas. I didnt do any pre-installation versus post-installation testing, but in my fairly noisy car, which is a convertible, I didnt really notice a difference with the top up on the freeway. It seems like there was a slight reduction in the temperature transferred from under the car (near the engine bay) to the floor inside, but convection of heat is ultimately not really blocked. Direct radiation is definitely lessened. My main goal was to reduce sound, and I would say that using 50 mil was a waste. I should have started with 80 mil and then doubled that. You do need to be careful in certain areas where this stuff will become too thick to fit parts back in place (like certain interior trim parts). I used the whole box of Kilmat on my little two-seater for the interior, a little in the doors (where I could reach) and in the trunk. I doubled up on most of the trunk and on the driver and passenger floorboards (up to the firewall where I could not really stick more of this stuff). Compared to what I read about other products, this doesnt have any smells that I noticed. I pressed it all in with a little roller that I bought online.
