I had the rollup door on my Step Van removed, and replaced with diamond plate aluminum on steel studs, as you might imagine, this transmits sound pretty well. So I had Kilmat installed between the studs. If you knock on the back wall with your fist, it sounds like a dull thud on the inside rather than a tinny clang. Perfect.

Installed in a 2021 Dodge Challenger and has helped with rattles and hollow sounds from all locations in the car. Easy to install. Make sure you measure several times and cut once. Save all your scraps they will come in handy for those hard to reach locations.

Wear gloves. Very sharp edges will cut you.. not may, but will. Easy to work with, very malleable. Not so sure it improves the sound insulation that well, but adequate.

Wifes 2015 jeep wrangler unlimited always felt a bit overly rough. Not much has changed for jeeps since the 60s... ride is rough, noise levels are off the chart. Nothing about the jeep felt like a modern vehicle. After a recent drive we decided to change that. I ordered this product to try to reduce some road noise. Install was easy, cutting the product with a simple utility knife. Place and roll. The rubber under the aluminum reminds me of what you find inside door panels, holding the plastic film in place. Super sticky, forever flexible and messy... if you find it on your knees afterwards lacquer thinner will remove it. Overall install was easy, rolling all of it made my hands sore the next day. Loved the look of all the foil lined floor. I have not driven it since install, but the wife reports great improvements. Stating it feels like it rides smoother. Sounds much quieter. Shes happy, so Im happy.

The mats were very easy to cut up and install inside the interior of my car. Road noises sound muffled which is very nice and vibrations from the subwoofers have less rattle which adds thump and tonality to the music. This stuff is really great and idk if it’s just me but I love the smell of the adhesive, it made installing this very pleasant :)

I really like this product, it was super easy to lay out and trim to fit pieces where full sheets wouldnt fit. I could of taken more time and fit it a Bit better but in less than 30 minutes I did the entire floor of a 06 crew cab gmc 2500hd. I have not driven yet for noise test but just tapping on the floor you can instantly tell it will be helpful. My factory mass backing had water damage so I liked this for noise reduction and getting rid of the padding.

The product quantity was more that enough to cover 4 doors on a 2008 Tacoma and still had enough to cover probably another 4, had plenty left over. Did install on a 85° day and they adhere really well. Tried using gloves but its hard, easier if you dont use them. It did leave a light smell of tar for a day or two only. The doors do feel as if they close tighter but didt really notice a great difference in outside backgound noise. Speaker sound does sound better. Definetly not to be used as insulation, they feel hot to the touch as metal does but still do recommend.

I guess I expected more. I even doubled up in some areas. I didnt do any pre-installation versus post-installation testing, but in my fairly noisy car, which is a convertible, I didnt really notice a difference with the top up on the freeway. It seems like there was a slight reduction in the temperature transferred from under the car (near the engine bay) to the floor inside, but convection of heat is ultimately not really blocked. Direct radiation is definitely lessened. My main goal was to reduce sound, and I would say that using 50 mil was a waste. I should have started with 80 mil and then doubled that. You do need to be careful in certain areas where this stuff will become too thick to fit parts back in place (like certain interior trim parts). I used the whole box of Kilmat on my little two-seater for the interior, a little in the doors (where I could reach) and in the trunk. I doubled up on most of the trunk and on the driver and passenger floorboards (up to the firewall where I could not really stick more of this stuff). Compared to what I read about other products, this doesnt have any smells that I noticed. I pressed it all in with a little roller that I bought online.

Just started applying and had to review! I have used other brands that cost more and they kilmat is equal in quality for the thickness lvl. Easy to apply, and now no tinny sound from my 54 year old car. I just hope they don raise the price like the other companies!

I insultate the entire interior of my vintage VW Bus while restoring it and fell in love with this stuff. Easy to cut to size, GREAT adhesion and noise dampening. One NOTE.... It is REALLY important to wipe down the paint surface with a quality Wax and Grease Remover before you apply this product to ensure that it will stick well and permanently. Go Slo, Measure and cut carefully, clean, and apply, then use a separate specialty Seam tape to seal all the seams between pieces. Have Fun!!
