Ive bought quite a few USB thumb drives from Kingston. I have yet to have any of them fail. This 128 GB is my most recent and has a pretty good capacity. The only complaint I have with this model is that the write speed sometimes seems to be relatively slow, even though the read speed is what i would expect from USB3.0. Im not sure if thats a USB3.0 issue or just something with this hardware.

I wish I would have read the comments as I had only considered the price and the capacity. This drive is very slow, so slow that I had to verify the capacity with H2testw to verify that this wasnt an old counterfeit item. The test wrote to the drive at 30Mb/s or about 3 times faster than the USB 1.1 standard (about 6% of USB 2.0). It took OVER TWO HOURS to write 64MB to this drive, and the test passed.

Some of my projects require transferring a large amount of data, and my 32GB flash drives were no longer keeping up. Ive always had good luck with Kingston so I didnt hesitate to order (both a 64GB and 128GB version). I only wished I would have read the other reviews before doing so. I had to transfer about 80GB of data so I plugged the drive into my Mac Pro. The machine recognized it, although it took a good 5-10 seconds before it appeared in the list of drives. I started the transfer and after reviewing the files told me it would take about a day to transfer. Ha - ok, Ill let it run overnight. Looked at it the next morning and it was still going! No joke. I had to do a repeat of the transfer and this time grabbed a small external USB 3.0 256GB SSD hard drive. I plugged it in and the computer saw it immediately. I started the transfer and it told me it would take about 40 minutes. I dont have the exact time that it took because I stepped away. But it was less than that. The speed with this flash drive is not what Im used to with other USB 3 devices. Im glad I didnt spend much on them because they will probably be put in the drawer and forgotten about!

I got this guy as a back up to a must more expensive Kingston I got a while ago ( yes i have like 4 thumb drives/ dropbox/ google drive all to back up work and school research/ etc) This unit works great for most user, the only knock on the unit is not that important but needs to be said, its read and write speeds are slower then the more expensive Kingston thumb drives. However again most people will be ok with the slower drive as long as its not used for something like a media server stick ie play movies in HD off of. in saying that i really have not had a problem with speed for any of my uses including as a media stick. Pros: Price, name brand, would buy again Cons: read/write speeds ( not a problem for most users)

There is not much to dislike, the only bad thing that happened to it was that the metal part of the USB bent a bit, fast transfer speeds, durable, and great price for the storage capacity.
