> 3 dayThis USB drive is an excellent value. You dont have to worry about losing the cap as an attached sleeve slides over the USB connector when not in use. Additionally, the drivers install quickly and easily. However, you may not want to use this drive to create a bootable copy of Windows 7. I discoverd during while reformatting my computer that there is an issue unique to Kingston DataTravelers that causes a driver error when attempting to install Windows 7. There is a work-around that involves unplugging the flash drive during installation, but I would recommend looking for a different brand if you want to create a bootable USB.

> 3 dayI must say Im a bit disappointed with this drive. The price was very reasonable and amazing for a 3.0 drive, but upon benchmarking the drive, I discovered that the write speed was that of a typical USB 2.0 drive. Read speeds are similar to my other 3.0 drives, though. I would recommend it for someone that reads a lot of files, but dont look for quick file transfers to the device.

> 3 dayThis flash drives write speed is much slower than expected. I have an older PNY 64gb USB 3.0 flash drive that is a lot faster and I guess I expected this to be about the same but it isnt. This feels more like 2.0 and Im a bit disappointed. I probably should have returned it but it was still an okay deal for the storage capacity. I just wont be using it often because of how slow it is.

> 3 dayI should have read the reviews more carefully. I have used an older Generation 2 Kingston DataTraveler since 2014, and it has always been great, so I trusted the brand. However, this generation of the device is... awful. It is incredibly, incredibly slow, both to read and to write. Sluggish. Unusable. Opening a folder takes 20-30 seconds, even if the contents are virtually nil. I dont have to run a speed test to know that something is terribly wrong here. Im not trying anything too sophisticated... I just wanted to open a PDF, and that shouldnt take three minutes of my time. Furthermore, this drive spontaneously shuts off when not in use. Every morning that Ive had it plugged into either my work PC or my personal Mac, I wake up my computer to a grumpy alert about unplugging it without properly ejecting it... even though it is still plugged in. Im sure there must be some way to disable that feature, but honestly, the drive is so slow that there is no point in me researching that, because I have already ordered its replacement. This is bad. Stay away.

> 3 dayI used these to back up my prone-to-failure hard drive before installing a new computer. I was able to transfer everything needed on only one flash drive. Works well and good price.

> 3 dayThese drives are unreliable. I bought two to supplement my Sandisk Extreme drives which are pricey. I just wanted to have a couple of drives for booting computers - low writes, lots of reads. They are so poorly implemented that they cant even handle that! Yes, the performance is mediocre - not what I bought them for. The problem seems to be that a decent fraction of the time they will disconnect during heavy reading or writing - which means file corruption and serious problems. Other times, they arent recognized at all on some systems. The problem seems to be with USB 3 mode, but I think they sometimes have issues in any mode. I had a problem getting modern macbook pros (USB 3) to boot off of them at all (where the identical image on a sandisk extreme worked 100%). I have had problems on an Acer with USB 3 ports as well. Ill plug it in and wait, and nothing happens. In linux ill check the logs, and sometimes theres nothing at all, other times Ill get a bunch of errors in dmesg. I have never had this kind of problem before. Ill plug it into a legacy USB 2 port, and poof, it mounts! After 30 seconds, it fails to mount the device. I just plugged one in my USB3 port now, heres what I got: [13745.997136] usb 4-2: new SuperSpeed USB device number 4 using xhci_hcd [13746.029889] usb 4-2: New USB device found, idVendor=0951, idProduct=1666 [13746.029896] usb 4-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [13746.029900] usb 4-2: Product: DataTraveler 3.0 [13746.029903] usb 4-2: Manufacturer: Kingston [13746.029906] usb 4-2: SerialNumber: 60A44C3FAD9EBE91698E0092 [13746.030551] usb-storage 4-2:1.0: USB Mass Storage device detected [13746.030716] scsi8 : usb-storage 4-2:1.0 [13767.958162] usb 4-2: reset SuperSpeed USB device number 4 using xhci_hcd [13772.976227] usb 4-2: device descriptor read/8, error -110 [13773.080179] usb 4-2: reset SuperSpeed USB device number 4 using xhci_hcd [13778.098299] usb 4-2: device descriptor read/8, error -110 [13778.258675] usb 4-2: USB disconnect, device number 4 [13778.259476] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: xHCI xhci_drop_endpoint called with disabled ep ffff8802ea172300 [13778.259487] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: xHCI xhci_drop_endpoint called with disabled ep ffff8802ea172348 Same device, in the USB 2 port and it mounts in 2 seconds.

> 3 daySo, this 16 GB USB 3.1 drive performs significantly worse than an old 4 GB USB 2.0 drive that I tested, but its the cheapest drive available in its capacity
