10-06-2025I bought this last December, and so far its working great. I had a four year old laptop with a HDD. I replaced it with this SSD and installed Linux, and my laptop feels as fast as any modern laptop. I use this for development, and my IDEs, browser, etc., start up fast.

> 3 dayBought this SSD to upgrade my Ubuntu 22.04 desktop. The boot time came down to 15 seconds which is awesome. From what I read online, constant writes kill SSDs since flash storage has limited write cycles. Trying to minimize writes therefore. The drive is cheap, so I am not sure how long it will last. Backing it up daily to a regular HD just in case. Overall, a good value for the money.

> 3 dayKingston has top notch support. They tried to help troubleshoot the problem. But it turns out HP envy m7-n109dx has a slot for M.2 ssd but it is deliberately disabled. I found this first hand and reading online. Kingston was not aware of this either. If you have this PC, use the extra 2.5 ssd port they offer. Youll need an adapter for the 2.5, the proper one is $25, I used the amazon part ASIN B0832GQVFG for about half that and some soft silicone weatherstripping to hold it in the case. Worked fine.

> 3 dayNot bad! Was cheap but I was looking for a cheap but much faster than a regular HDD and this worked great for the price. These havent let me down for a cheaper end SATA SSD. If you seek better speeds, go with Samsung or NVME if you have the nvme slot available on your motherboard....MUCH faster but this will work on any 2.5 HD SATA cable. Happy with second purchase, great for breathing FAST new life into older desktops, laptops and most but not all Macs.

> 3 dayIve tried quite a few brands of the 120-250GB SSD NAND drives and this Kingston is my favorite so far. Ive tried PNY, ADATA, INLAND, PATRIOT, in this price range and really like this Kingston for my OS drive, especially when upgrading an older PC (Core 2 Duo, Turion, and later) to run W10. I dont mind paying a buck or two more (not five though) for a little better drive. If I absolutely needed reliability and performance I wouldnt buy in this price range but go for the higher end EVO or better. This is perfect for the price.
