I was lured by the price. Its not a terrible design. I have not found out how to name each of the 3 wifi plugs per device. Ive only been able to name the 1 device., in both the KMC app and Smart Life. In either app you can turn on or off any of the 3 wifi plugs, but not by voice. Alexa and Google can only control the whole device. All 3 plugs come on or off by voice. Setting this up with my mesh router was a headache until I figured out how to manually set 2.5 to a channel instead of on auto. I bought another device at the same time that allows me to name each plug and includes usb slots. I wish I had gotten them all as that product, but it is twice the price.

if you have linux around and want to flash this with better firmware, search on tasmota and tuya-convert. worst case, you open this unit and connect an ftdi serial cable and flash tasmota yourself, but doing the OTA trick sure is cool and almost fun ;) once you get open firmware on it, its WAY better. I have many of these at home and they all run the same firmware and can be remotely controlled with simple curl commands, fully scriptable, no need for gui or phone-home-china stuff. dump the factory firmware and never look back. these have the extra feature of power-mgmt (you can read voltage and current and power, for the whole unit, not on a per-port basis, sadly). see the config screen image for what the pin mapping is, for this module. each tuya module by each vendor is wired differently; so you have to search the model to know what each pin on the ESP chip does. I did that work for you, so just use this and be happy ;) again, its going to be a bit of effort to learn and read all you need to, to flash tasmota. to get this unit into program mode, you power it up then quickly hit the single power button and hold it for a long time until it flashes differently. I think it took over 10 or 20 seconds. keep pressing until it starts to blink. THEN run the tuya convert util on your linux laptop or rasp pi, DO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and DO use your phone to connect to the ssid that the linux util says to. just connect to it like its a wifi portal and keep your phone on that. THEN proceed to flash tasmota from linux to the kmc4 unit. its complicated but worth it and once you do one, youll do the next one a lot faster and easier.

Its great that you can name and control EACH port separately via Alexa, via the KMC Smart app. You download KMC smart app and then choose the KMC Smart skill from Alexa. I bought (4) and immediately programmed two. Upon command, it will turn on 2 of three lights and not the 3rd, then the next time the 1 light and not the other two, then the next week it would do all. I kept the two because I need the outlets, but returned the other two before installing. I just wont rely on voice control for those.

    Greater than one week

Product continues to auto shut off after about 10 15 min of being on. The company forced an update onto it and it now has lost the ability to control 3 separate plus it has now became one plug. The reason i bought this unit is to control several items on one plug. Also they told me that it needs a strong wifi signal to work. One is literally 1 foot from the router and losses wifi signal. The other is also in the same room about 5 feet away. If you enjoy you lights acting there is a ghost in your house feel free to purchase this productother wise i would search elsewhere.

Im using this with my Raspberry pi and my two 3D printers, really nice to have Octoprint (running on the pi) toggle power between the two printers! And its also really easy to flash Tasmota without having to open it up! I used a NodeMCU ESP32 to connect to the device and flashed the device OTA.

I got this plugs on a sale for $ 16.14 a pack, this means $8.07 per plug. Initial impressions, construction looks good, this seems to be made by KMC and not a rebrand as it regular with all todays procuts as the brand is stamped on the product and not a label. The internal looks of good design and contructions, i got this to be used on my server rack so i can turn off/on individual products in case i need to restart them , like a server or switch. My initial problem was with the claim that After a power outage, outlets will retain their most recent setting to save energy. this is currently not true with the current firmware version, i tried diferent ways and would not work this way so it will not serve my purpuse unless i put tasmota on it. You can control each individual plug on the top row, and the one on the bottom is always on as indicated. I flashed this with tuya-convert and after that i programed the relays to retain memory and stay on the last state. One aded value of this plug is that it has total power monitoring, you can measure the total consumption of all the switches and this is good if you want to monitor your devices or appliances. Another good thing is the little plastic plug on the back that is supposed to align on a US 2 outlet receptacle for added stability, however you may need to remove this if you are going to plug this into any other place like the output of a UPS like in my case. Overall, this is a great value, im taking half a star because of the claim that the relays stay on the last state, this may be corrected on a future firmware upgrade, however this is common for smart devices with a few exceptions.

Love these things! Has worked flawlessly, my lenovo smart plugs stopped working with Alexa but these have remained , running strong even after outage . I highly recommend and best of all you can control each port individually and see how much wattage each is Using.
