This is the first eReader that Ive had in many years. I love the kobo libra 2 eReader! I love how easy it is to use and I feel that it has good battery life. I love the buttons on it which is why I picked this over a kindle paperwhite. The kindle oasis has buttons but was a little too pricey for me. So far, I havent run into any problems using the kobo libra 2.

I upgraded to this from the original Paperwhite. While I loved my Paperwhite, it had no backlight and was showing sings of wear and tear. After a lot of research, I chose Kobo due to the native overdrive configuration. To be able to check out library books directly to my device was amazing. I love this thing! Its quick, snappy, I CAN READ AT NIGHT, and the ability to click buttons to turn the page is something I didnt realize I needed. I also love the placement of the power button on the back. I never accidentally lock it while reading. The Kobo store is more pricey than the kindle store (makes sense because kindle works out deals with their authors) but they have sales and your points build up quickly. I believe that it also accepts epubs natively if you need to sideload books bought on other platforms.

Best reader, great battery life even with wifi on, has buttons as well as the touch screen for turning pages, comfortlight pro easy on the eyes, 32gb storage, worth it!

Bought the Libra 2 to compare to the 2021 Kindle Paperwhite (PW). Pros: - Fast response: page turns often have no delay compared to 2021 PW - Format friendly: accepts more file types than Kindle does. Sideloaded a comic book that didn’t need reformated and reads flawlessly. Kindle forced the file to change file types and does not look as clean. - Buttons are great: the buttons are large enough and placed well that it is easy to change pages without adjusting my grip. Don’t want to use buttons? No problem! - Hold it however you want: hand getting tired? Flip the device around and hold it in your other hand. Or set it down in landscape mode. The screen and buttons will adjust to whatever orientation you need. - Read anytime: the screen’s brightness and warmth settings are crisp. Adjusting the brightness by sliding along the screen edge is intuitive and fast. Cons: - Dark mode: the PW has a quick and simple process for activating dark mode for nighttime reading. the Libra 2 is less intuitive. It should be an option under the brightness setting, but instead it’s on the second page of the general settings menu. - Gyro is hyperactive: sometimes just by tilting the device a little too far will cause the screen to autorotate. It can be a pain getting it to readjust to fit the orientation sometimes needing the device to be twisted different orientations before it finally responds. Note: there is an option to turn off autorotate. - Less desirable case: the official folding case does not work well as a stand. Because Kobo is not as popular as Kindle, the availability of third party alternatives is not as robust.

This is my first foray into e-readers, I prefer a physical book but physical space is a more limiting than digital storage. I like the anti glare and that reading on it doesnt burn my eyeballs out like reading on my phone. Ive noticed some ebooks dont translate well into it though, even when compared to the mobile kobu app. Also not a huge fan of the glitchy looking transitions when you turn a page even in the e-store. It makes it look like s*** and rankles me. I havent gotten around to trying to get ebooks from other platforms onto it yet but crossing my fingers. Not 100% sure i like it, but it is sufficient and does the job for now.

I unboxed my Kobo Libra 2 and fell in love with it. Sadly as I configured it I realized that my massive kindle library was not compatible with the Kobo e-reader. (Before Kobo loyalists nuke me, I know there are ways to do it but I was not willing to do chetaah flips to do it). Anyway loved the screen, configuration, etc but was bummed to have to return it. I think there should be a disclamer somewhere, or at least something in the comparison blocks where it also listed the Kindle paperwhite, that the Kobo is not compatable with Kindle e-books.

Really glad I bought this. I read a lot more than I used to with only physical books. The screen is easy on the eyes and the battery life is tremendously long. Putting .epub files on it is easy, so if you already have books in a digital format, its not difficult to transfer them.

I comes from kindle. And the kobo libra 2 just blow my mind. Its so much crispier. After looking at kindle screen for years now up to the latest gen, the kobo libra 2 display is the best one. Text are so crispier and less eyes strain.

This feels really good in the hand. I have a couple kindles and i like the physical buttons to do the page turn. ease of borrowing books from the library is a plus too Updated review. After a couple more days with it and going back and forth between it and my kindle paperwhite, this is a lot easier to hold. One handed in a lounging position it really just fits better. I do notice the operating system seems more responsive. I am continually impressed!

First off, lets say that this is a great ereader that I actually liked it better than Kindle Oasis 10th generation. Some people criticized its plastic shell, but I actually liked it. I think the plastics made it lightweight, easy to hold, and not metal-cold in winter. Battery was good, letters were sharp, and I enjoyed reading at night with this device in hand. But I returned it. Reason 1: Lack of synchronization. Although Kobo Libra 2, as a standalone ereader, is great, it does not sync well with the PC app. I did not test whether it syncs with an iPad Kobo app, but google tells me that it only syncs with books purchased from kobo website. Kindle, google play book, apple books, all beats Kobo in this essential function. Reason 2: lack of accessories. Along with Kobo Libra 2, I bought a Kobo origami case. The case was great, worked as intended, but it added a significant weight to the device, made it not very pleasant with the floppy back. I returned it. I prefer a sleeve case, a pouch, so when I read it can be held in my hands, and when I dont read it can be protected. Amazon is filled with pouch/sleeve cases for Kindle/paperwhite/oasis, and all kinds of ipads. None fit the kobo snugly. They were too big, too small, or too rectangular, etc.
