> 3 dayI switched from my kindle paperwhite 10th gen to a kobo libra 2 and I have no regrets. Ironically this is my best amazon purchase. I love the white clean look to mine, the buttons have spoiled me but I also just tap and swipe. I love how the kobo tells you how long youve read and how many books you have completed, those tiny rewards. Also access to overdrive on the kobo! Game changer. Kobo doesnt bombard you with book suggestions like kindle does so I feel more comfortable checking my home screen. Plus the organization by most recent books, authors, etc its superior. And for kobo, you can import books from non kobo to your kobo, like repubs, etc. I use calibre to organize my ebook library and adding the books to kobo is wonderful, stress free when you figure it out. With calibre I can edit the book cover which is a blessing because some ebook covers on kindle....arent the ones I want. So changing them to be what I want to see if glorious. I love my kobo, and am happy to leave the amazon kindle world. Yes kobo has less titles but every small company starts somewhere and kobo has better ethics and morals than amazon does.

> 3 dayI upgraded from a Kobo Aura One to the Libra 2. You might ask why I consider going from a 7.8 device to a 7 device an upgrade. I do, because I have tiny hands and never realized just how much I HATED holding the Aura One until I had the smaller Libra 2 for comparison. I had originally bought the Sage, but due to the battery life and the sheer weight of the thing, I returned it. I love the design of the Libra 2 with the side buttons. I had always thought that my Aura One would be better if I could just hold it on the side, its just where I naturally want to hold an e-reader, but due to the thin side bezels on the Aura One, that wasnt possible. One thing I will say is that the Libra 2 feels better with a case on it. You can get the official case, or a third-party case here on Amazon for half the price, and from what I gather, weighs less than the official case as well. I got one from BOZHUORUI that has a pretty starry pattern on it, but there are plenty of other options at this point. I love the Libra 2 for its size and weight. It also has an AMAZING screen, and great battery life. Sure, the last gen model H20 might be lighter than the 2, but I think the 2 with the case I got for it, is the sweet spot for what an e-reader should weigh, at least for me, personally. I have been reading a lot more since I bought the Libra 2, compared to my Aura One. If you have a Kobo device thats several years old, dont hesitate to upgrade! If you have a last-gen model, its probably not worth it. I cant do any comparisons with Kindle devices, as I dont own any, but the Libra 2 costs less than the Paperwhite Signature Edition (which also has 32gb so is comparable) and significantly less than the Oasis (which has the page turn buttons on the side), and has the amazing screen and everything.

> 3 dayI have always been a kindle or fire person because theres nothing like the convenience of the Amazon library and ecosystem, in my opinion. But, I decided I wanted something that would be easy to download library books, and reviews say that the Kobo was a good alternative. I agree. I think I still lean toward the kindle but hear me out there are pros and cons here. And, dont get me wrong the Kobo Libra 2 is really nice. Background: I have had 3 generations of the Kindle and I have mained the gen 4 Paperwhite and I love it. I stuck a popsocket on the back and easy reading no hand fatigue sitting or laying in bed. It is quick and responsive, portable, and easy on the eyes. I was really drawn into the Oasiss shape but didnt want to pay the high price, even the refurbs where hitting bit higher than what i wanted to pay and the best alternative was the Kobo Libra 2. Out of the box it is a great experience. I love the 7in screen and how it looks and built. I can now read books from 3 different ecosystem, Amazon(with Kindle), Kobo, and library(overdirve). I love options and now I can browse all three for a book series I can download. To be honest, im not the big series books kind of person, because i cant stand that youd have to pay a premium for at least a book in a series when youve enjoyed a free or at least an inexpensive one up to now. whatever! But, my only cons about the Kobo is that it is slower, by a millisecond i think to the Kindle. Even when you hit the button to turn the page it lags. I see a quicker turn on the kindle but that could be my eyes. I also see a little bit of ghosting in the Kobo that i dont see on the kindle. And that it is. In conclusion, i like the Kobo a lot and i would still recommend the Libra 2 to anyone because it is a great devise for the price. and a great compliment to anyone willing to compliment their Amazon kindle library with others.

> 3 dayExcellent device! I picked this device over the Kindles for a number of reasons: their better integration of outside services like Overdrive and Pocket, wider support for a variety of formats (PDFs, which are common for manga) and its one-handed design. Its exceeded my expectations through and through and has been helpful for winding down at night. The weeks of battery life on the page got me nearly a month; after one month of reading nearly every evening for about an hour i was left with ~14% left! Crazy good. My only complaint is that Ive noticed highlighting/annotating tends to be wonkier on certain book formats not brought in from the Kobo Store. It could be because these formats are not optimized for the device but its not a huge deal. The Kindle line of devices are far cheaper, but this is packed full of great features that you cant get from Amazon without some extra workarounds. If you want out of the Amazonian Ecosystem, this is the way.

> 3 daySorry Amazon. I am loving my new Kobo Libra 2. I have owned four Kindles in the past and they always seemed to have something lacking for me. I have the latest Kindle Paperwhite but somehow the touchscreen was at times either too sensitive or not sensitive enough and I got frustrated. I went back to using my ancient Kindle Keyboard since I liked the buttons for page turning but it was not backlit. I considered the Oasis but got so turned off by the cost, the mini USB and the extra $20 for no ads. I had heard about the Kobo Libra 2 and decided to try it when it was on sale. Since I borrow e-books from the library a lot, it is so easy now. Love the page turn buttons and even the touch screen functions are not frustrating. Glad I made the purchase.

> 3 dayReally glad I bought this. I read a lot more than I used to with only physical books. The screen is easy on the eyes and the battery life is tremendously long. Putting .epub files on it is easy, so if you already have books in a digital format, its not difficult to transfer them.

> 3 dayI purchased this item, because I thought that it would be handy to be able to listen to audiobook, or to read the ebook. As a reader, this item is really quite good, and if that is what you want, it’s just fine. The reader is light and the letters are crisp. A bit of caution is that using the back light reduces the battery life, but that’s not too surprising . On the other hand, the audio function is a disaster. I downloaded a three audiobook set. Jumping to book 3, chapter 22 was so slow that I gave up. Actually, I’m not sure that it worked or can do that. My feeling is that the processed is not up to the task. You’re much better listening to an audiobook on a cell phone or a tablet. Moreover, a subscription for Kobo audio books is currently $9.95 a month and that’s not worth it wifi sluggish performance. A final issue is that the audio books and the ebooks do not automatically synchronize.

Greater than one weekI had a kindle and this is so much better! integrates directly with Overdrive, most of the books I have wanted to read have been available. You get about twice as much bang for your buck as with Kindle. The books are slightly more expensive but you arent locked into a specific store to purchase them.

> 3 dayGreat e-reader. Went from a Nook that was losing battery power by the day. So far this Kobo is way better. It’s not only that it has an extra inch in size, but it is easier to handle and to turn the pages. Very pleased so far.
