> 3 dayI was between this and the Kindle Paperwhite, but I’m happy that I got this one. The buttons on the side make it much easier for me to read one-handed, and it’s light so that helps too. Edit: This size is actually fantastic. You can also zoom in the text so it fits the size better, which makes reading comfortable! It’s a nice ergonomic shape so reading is convenient.

> 3 dayIn the past I have always been a hardcore nook enthusiast, I thought Id try something different with this Kobo because of the reviews. I absolutely love it, I did have to get used to the large side lip, along with it feeling larger than my nook, only because I do not or did not use the physical buttons on either of the Kobo or my old Nook. But the extra options on this Kobo are absolutely beautiful. I am addicted to the dark mode and have not gone back to the regular reading mode since I got it. I definitely suggest getting either a cover with a handle, or like I did, a handle that sticks on a piece of Velcro to attach to the back. Without a handle, youre definitely going to smack yourself in the head if you tend to read at night lying down. One bad thing I have noticed is that the battery life is not as good as on my old Nook, I do have to charge it probably twice as much.

> 3 dayVery crisp screen. Lighting is awesome and I love, love, love the page turn buttons and it’s easy to hold. I’m returning for a few reasons I have multiple library cards and the built in overdrive only lets me sync with one at a time. I use Goodreads and would have to input books manually. It is just too much work for me to switch out of the Amazon ecosystem. Too bad. This is a really good ereader. If you have one library card, if this is your first ereader, if you don’t use Goodreads I highly recommend.

> 3 dayI upgraded to this from the original Paperwhite. While I loved my Paperwhite, it had no backlight and was showing sings of wear and tear. After a lot of research, I chose Kobo due to the native overdrive configuration. To be able to check out library books directly to my device was amazing. I love this thing! Its quick, snappy, I CAN READ AT NIGHT, and the ability to click buttons to turn the page is something I didnt realize I needed. I also love the placement of the power button on the back. I never accidentally lock it while reading. The Kobo store is more pricey than the kindle store (makes sense because kindle works out deals with their authors) but they have sales and your points build up quickly. I believe that it also accepts epubs natively if you need to sideload books bought on other platforms.

> 3 dayUPDATE, Dec 2022: Upping my rating from two to four stars because the OverDrive-totally-not-working issue has been solved. I know because I ended up buying another one after returning the first in frustration. As others have noted, OverDrive still doesnt work very well when you have cards at multiple libraries. That aside, the device itself is a pleasure to read on, and if you manage your collection in Calibre, your Collections categories transfer nicely to the Kobo. ORIGINAL: I really wanted to like this Kobo, but after hours of troubleshooting, the OverDrive integration still wouldnt work. Ease of use in borrowing library books was a key selling feature and a primary use for me, so I unfortunately had to return it. Pros: lightweight; comfortable; sharp screen with bright, even lighting Cons: OverDrive integration is broken; interface can feel sluggish

> 3 dayLiked it because it is very light and easily set up how you like it to work, like how you like reading it. I recommend this product

> 3 dayScreen could be more matte for outdoor or bright conditions. Too shiny. Print clarity is good .. slightly off parallel to frame. Does what I want ..

Greater than one weekThis reminds me of Barnes n nobles original nook e-reader that came out before the Kindle. Personally Ive never been a fan of kindle and they ran nook into the ground. Almost like a more advanced tribute to it. Kobos software seems really user friendly. I easily purchase a book and began reading it. Free built in library is a nice touch. The way the e reader almost looks like a book on the page, the advanced brightness settings and overall lightweight feel of it it is just very appealing. Very happy with my purchase!
