So far, I have read Fitzgeralds The Great Gatsby, Dickens Great Expectations, Wildes The Importance of being Earnest, Homers Odyssey, Gilmans The Yellow Wallpaper, Joyces Ulysses, several Philip K. Dick short stories, and I am working my way through Homers Iliad. It fits in the back pocket of my Levis, and anytime Im waiting for an appointment or have a little down time, Im reading on it. BTW, a good source of older books is The Gutenberg Project -- they are all free!

This is my first e-reader. Overall, good device with high quality plastic and a very nice screen. I am happy with the product. It got stuck a couple times while looking up from dictionary. So, I had to restart the device. I believe Kobo will fix it soon.

I already own a Kobo Libra H20 . Overall I am happy with the Kobo Libra 2. It has an additional feature that I was looking forward to. It can play audio files. Unfortunately, it can only play audio files that you buy from Kobo. So if you want to upload your audiobooks, language courses or music, it will not work at all.

This is my first e-Reader and I am really enjoying it. Pros: - Very light, which makes it super easy to use in any situation, like laying in bed - USB C charging - Screen brightness & color options - Font options - Ability to side load books from your computer - The screen itself - Battery life - Charging speed - Comfortable to hold one or two handed - Book cover is shown when the device is in sleep mode, which looks nice Cons: - None whatsoever as of right now

While I love this device because it allows me to read my books in a comfortable form factor as a piece of tech its extremely underwhelming. The problems endemic to the Libra 2 are (I had to go through multiple devices to get one without defects): - Extremely outdated CPU that holds the device back in terms of performance and battery life - Smaller battery than competing devices, only a couple of weeks of battery with minimal usage. Battery drains dramatically doing anything that isnt turning a page in a book. Kobo should be honest and report the battery life in hours - Page turn buttons are lovely to have but awfully constructed, only one half of the button actually activates and depending on where you press it the resistance is completely different. A $5 remote has nicer buttons. - Build quality is lower than Kindle - Overpriced

I had a kindle and this is so much better! integrates directly with Overdrive, most of the books I have wanted to read have been available. You get about twice as much bang for your buck as with Kindle. The books are slightly more expensive but you arent locked into a specific store to purchase them.

The Kobo Libra 2 is a very nice ebook, as ebook readers go. I bought it because my library has tens of thousand more epub books than kindle books. There is two major problems with it; 1. Read the fine print about library books and Kobo. IF THE BOOK DOES NOT EXIST IN THE KOBO STORE THAN YOU CAN NOT GET IT FROM THE PUBLIC LIBRARY. 2. Do a search on the end of Overdrive. The company wants to terminate the Overdrive app and plans to do it by the end of 2022. It is pushing all libraries using Overdrive to switch to the Libby app. Libby is a great app but it is not on Kobo. If none of the above bothers or affects you then go for the Kobo Libra 2. If the above concerns you then get a small Android tablet or iPad mini or use your smart phone. All support Libby and complete access to your library. Advisorys: Amazon Fire MAY NOT support Libby so be careful there, also Color tablets are not great in the sunlight. Happy Reading!

I upgraded from a Kindle Paperwhite 2018 and for the most part it’s been a noticeable improvement. Starting with some of the cons I noticed: Screen ghosts a bit more than other e-ink screens I’ve seen but it doesn’t get in the way of anything and you can adjust the refresh interval for the screen. Overall fit and finish isn’t as good as the kindles, the plastic feels creaky and there is a noticeable gap between the back cover and the internals, but that’s negated by a case. It’s also noticeably heavier than other e-readers and even more so with the case on. Finally while it supports more file types than the Kindles, for the full feature set you have to convert books to the proprietary .kpub format so sideloading has an extra step in the process. But all of those I can easily live with. The screen is fantastic, crisp and high-contrast, text and illustrations really pop on it. Backlighting is also incredibly even and has a lot of fine control for color temperature and brightness. The Kobo UI is leagues ahead of the Kindle’s, simple to navigate and use and makes important settings easy to access while being snappy and responsive. If you need an e-reader and don’t care for Amazon’s ecosystem or want a cheaper alternative to the Oasis, this is your best option IMO.

I love my Libra 2! This was my first e-reader, and I am blown away by how much I enjoy it and how many more books I read in any given month because it’s so easy with this! It is very light and easy to hold and easy to press the mechanical buttons to turn the page, which I love. The finger swipe to adjust brightness is great, and the angled side makes it easy to rest it in one palm. Battery life is sufficient but I don’t really have anything to compare it to. The integration with overdrive is amazing so I can easily check out ebooks from my library on the Libby app and read them on the Libra. I have also bought books from the kobo store to read and transferred epic books and PDF books from my computer with the included cable using Adobe digital editions software and that process was not super convenient but also not too much of a hassle. Overall I love this thing and can read outside in the blaring sun or inside late at night with gentle yellow light so it doesn’t strain my eyes. My only gripe is that the highlighting process is not very ergonomic and it is error prone, and I have to manually transfer highlights to my computer as exported text files rather than integrating them with an app like Readwise. Also, I am a heavy user of the Pocket app for news and web articles, and although there is integration with the Libra 2, it doesn’t have the ability to save your highlights to Pocket which is really the only reason I use Pocket so I was really disappointed. Basically I don’t use Pocket and instead use this exclusively as an ebook reader with my overdrive account, but it is absolutely perfect for that and I highly recommend!

This reminds me of Barnes n nobles original nook e-reader that came out before the Kindle. Personally Ive never been a fan of kindle and they ran nook into the ground. Almost like a more advanced tribute to it. Kobos software seems really user friendly. I easily purchase a book and began reading it. Free built in library is a nice touch. The way the e reader almost looks like a book on the page, the advanced brightness settings and overall lightweight feel of it it is just very appealing. Very happy with my purchase!
