Komelon SL2825 Self Lock 25-Foot Power Tape

I like the tape measures but the durability sucks. I’ve bought two and both broke after not that much use.

I never thought I cared about a tape measure, but this one has such usefulness to appreciate! The auto lock feature came in really handy when measuring spaces for my new home so I could easily mark them with blue tape. It was easy to read even without my glasses. Far superior to anything I’ve ever seen. Would highly recommend!

Did what it was supposed to

The tape itself is very nice. The markings are very easy to read and the coating is pleasing to the touch. The auto locking feature is why I purchased this unit. Unfortunately, it doesnt hold very well.

Best fit for my hand

Do not release the extended tape with the release button unless your holding the tape with your hand to slow the retraction of the tape back into the holder. If you simply push and release the retraction button over and over it will lock up due to a flawed brake mechanism inside the holder. The brake mechanism will crack and cause the tape to lockup. Mine broke after about 10 minutes of use. Very poor design.

I work in a furniture store so a tape measure is an essential. My coworkers always would steal mine that they started buying them for themselves.
