> 3 dayI’ve use this product multiple times in the past. I’ve used the original version as well as the pro. In the past, even the original would last for two or three days as advertised, but the pro, which is supposed to last 4 to 7 days, has not managed to last even overnight. I have used up the entire roll of strips and not one application has lasted overnight for a second day. Part of the time the glue is not sticking to my skin, but part of the time the tape is not sticking to a previous piece of tape. As I’ve said, I have used this product in the past and now how to apply it. After the first time it didn’t stick, I rewatched an application video to make sure I had applied it correctly. I had. I used the right amount of stretch and proceeded to give a friction rub afterwards to help as recommended. It didn’t matter if my skin was freshly washed or completely dry. It didn’t matter if I put lotion on the night before or not. It didn’t matter if I was wearing shorts, capris or jeans (application was on the knees). None of the applications stayed for a second day.

20-11-2024When I got shin splints a few years ago I tried every product that money could buy. After spending well over $100 and getting no relief, I figured Id give KT tape a shot as a last resort, because what could some adhesive fabric tape possibly do to relieve my pain. My God was I impressed, and back up and running a few days later. This stuff really is magic. Ive recommended and given samples out to people over the years who have had variety of different pains and almost all of them have also come to swear by it. Supposedly the magic is that it help with circulation, but however it works, it DOES WORK. They have a great collection of youtube videos for how to do different applications depending on where your pain is. WHY NOT 5 STARS? -- because Ive found that there are other brands that work just as well for a fraction of the price. I thought that the cotton fabric of the other brands (compared to the synthetic fabric of the Pro KT tape) wouldnt adhere or hold up as well, since the cotton regular KT Tape certainly does not, but I was wrong. I think it all comes down to the adhesive. Still a wonderful product, and Ill still buy it, but when I need a bunch Ill go off brand.

> 3 dayBoth the household members tried this. I broke my arm a few months ago and my PT put this type of tape on me and it worked great. I bought this one for my BF because he has extreme shoulder pain everyday all day. I told him to let me put this tape on and did the criss cross thing and he was amazed that the pain subsided greatly and immediately!

> 3 dayThis is the first time Ive ever used this product, and I wont be using it again...well at least not this brand. It claims to stay on for 24 hrs and that it is sweat proof and I call B.S. on both claims. The first day I used it, I taped for peroneal tendinitis, tarsal syndrome, and Achilles tendinitis and within an 4 hours it was already lifting and rolling. My skin was clean, dry and I was not doing anything other then walking around the house. The second time I taped for same issues after I got out of shower was dressed and dried and I immediately laid down for a nap and again when I woke the tape had lifted and rolled up in several places. I was really excited to try this product as I had seen it used and it has been recommended by several people I know that are extreme sport athletes. While on it truly does provide the support to my ankle and foot I was looking for, it truly is a let down that it just doesnt last long.

> 3 dayIve used KT Tape off and on for a chronic ankle problem I got from running. When it flared up Id use some tape on it which would provide some relief. The only issue I had with KT Tapes original product was that since I used it on my ankle and foot, the ends of the tape would tend to come loose when you put you shoes and socks on and took them off. And once the ends come loose, its not long before the whole piece of tape wont stay. KT Tape advertises that it will stay on and can be worn for up to 5 days and occasionally I would get that much use out of it, but many times it would only last a day or two. Enter KT Tape Pro. I read a very positive review of it from someone I follow on Twitter and since I already knew the tape worked for me as far as providing relief from my injury, I decided to try a roll of their pro product. Im happy to say it works as advertised. If you apply it as directed (make sure to burnish it down good), it stays on. For several days. If youre wearing it on your feet, you still need to take some care putting on and taking off socks, but as long as you do that, you can wear it for a few days before it needs to be removed. If youve used KT Tapes original product, you will notice KT Tape Pro doesnt have the pre-cut split down the center of each piece. IMO, this is a change for the better. In many applications of the tape, you dont want to split it and its much easier to lay it down as a single piece without that pre-cut split. And if you do need that, its simple enough to do it yourself with a pair of scissors. All in all, a definite improvement on the original KT Tape. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayOnce I figured out how to place the tape, how much tension was needed, and remembered to use alcohol to prep my skin (first), I felt better than I have in a long time. Its difficult to put the tape on by yourself, but I can do it! My knees and low back felt so much better. KT Tape Pro stays on my skin for as long as 2 weeks. Im desperate to relieve my pain, so I use Original (blue) Dawn dishwashing liquid on my knees and low back after my usual shower or bath, then I liberally soak several paper towels with rubbing alcohol and scrub my knees and low back. While allowing the alcohol time to dry, I either use a hot hair dryer or sit in front of a space heater, warming my knees. Only then do I apply the tape and use the backing paper to rub the tape to create friction. I was amazed that the tape stayed on for two whole weeks. I did have to trim a few small areas that curled from my jeans rubbing the tape. Be sure to watch the videos to decide how much tension you need to use. The first time I put it on my back it hurt badly because I pulled it to much. I was able to reapply the tape and warm it with the hair dryer. I was happy that it stuck again. Also the ends do not stick well to tape. Your anchors must be on your skin with no tension. Thank you for this excellent product!

> 3 dayWorks. Doesnt take the pain away totally, but significantly. Stayed on through 3 lap swims over a 5 or 6 day period. I finally pulled it off. No skin irritation. Will buy again. Even reduced the pain during daily movement / chores.

Greater than one weekI first bought the regular version of KT Tape locally, in black, and I decided I didnt want it to be obvious I was dealing with Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI, a.k.a. Tendonitis) issues. I could not find the skin colored tape locally, hence the reason for purchasing online. So, this review is for the PRO Sports Tape, but comparing it to the Original...two things I find different than the Original: #1, the pretty little dash lines printed on the tape. (They dont seem to serve any function other than looks); #2, the convenient plastic container with double screw-on lids (which makes it easy to toss into a gym bag). I expected the PRO tape to have a stronger elasticity/different fabric than the Original, but they appear to be the same. And for me personally, I was using the box from my first purchase (of the Original) as a dispenser (with a flap folded in). Which, although the box is not durable like the plastic, is much easier to pull off the strips as you need them. One more issue I realized is the same: the length of time wearing it. The Original recommends 1-3 days and the PRO recommends 4-7 days. But regardless of which one you use, once an edge curls up from your skin it wont re-adhere and your clothes will constantly stick to it and peel it away from your skin further. So even the PRO might need to be changed every day. Also, if either style gets wet, they will stick to your skin OK, but if you layer one tape over another they wont bond together anymore. As for removal, expect either version to pull out a few hairs, so expect it to be a little uncomfortable. As of yet I have not tried the Gentle version, which Im assuming would not hurt as much peeling it off. Also note, with repeated use such as needed for tendonitis, your skin may develop a sensitivity to the adhesive and cause a bit of a rash when you take it off.
