Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors, 48 Colors

Oh my goodness, I know these are not traditional watercolors due to not having the gum Arabic in them for opacity, but my goodness, I am IN LOVE. These are so mixable, so customizable, and an absolute and utter joy to work with. So glad I splurged!!

These paints are part watercolor--part gouache. They are fun to use right out of the box. With 48 colors, you dont have to mix paints much. Vibrant colors.

Very new to water color and so far this is one of the best if not the best since it is very different from our “western” water color paints. I used the cheat canson Xl and the Princeton Summit brush with these watercolor and boy are they amazing! I would definitely buy it again for sure!

The color range is nice. They are a bit sticky after wetting the pan. Can be used like watercolor but use less water and they act like gouache. Draw back is the cardboard box that they come in. If you continue to store them this way when wetting pans using a mister have to be careful to now get the box to wet.

I like the large assortment of colors. I used this for my illustrations.

The set was really beautiful and nice quality for the cost of it. Really nice that you can take out individual colors out of the box as well to make it more convenient. Really glad that I got it.

These are fantastic watercolors. The big pans are great. Nice selection of good colors.
