So grateful for this kit. My baby was labeled as failure to thrive and I️ feel like it armed me with knowledge about my milk nutritional content. I really liked the personal recommendations for optimizing my nutrient intake. My providers all felt comfortable with the process and analysis. It truly gave me the confidence and helped relieve some of the guilt I️ was feeling because my baby wasn’t growing as expected. Still breastfeeding 3 months later and baby is hanging in there size wise, just small.

Directions were easy to follow. Collection was easy too. And I LOVED having the results - really really helpful and reassuring. Also great that its reviewed by a doctor. This is a home run product. I know its pricey but its definitely worth it if you can afford it!

I was so thankful to have the opportunity to check out the composition of my milk as I was trying to figure out why my baby was fussy. It could be the flow of milk or it could be that I didn’t have enough fat content. I was able to rule our the composition thanks to the Lactation Lab. It’s a whole process of trial and error and this product helps you evaluate your milk composition, which is one of the few things that you have the option of testing.

I have been breastfeeding my baby for almost 6 months and any mothers that have ever done this know how challenging it can be! There’s always the question of “is it enough or good enough for my baby?!” Also, I’m a full time working mother and with pumping, my supply isn’t overly abundant, so it’s even more challenging. This answered so many of my questions! Yes, my milk is good enough for my baby. I probably need to eat more and also get more vitamins and nutrients. So I highly recommend this! Dr. Canale wrote me a nice message with a lot of details and I loved the report I got. It was worth it for me to do! I intend to breastfeed for as long as my body will let me, hopefully 6 more months!

I had a great experience with my Lactation Lab kit. It was easy to send my sample and I got the results quickly. The results were paired with clear action items, like which supplements to take (in my case it was iron, C, and B12). Overall this was a straightforward way to evaluate my nutrition and improve the healthiness of my baby and me.

The results were so comprehensive and so insightful into where my nutrition and supplementation was lacking. After receiving the results, I knew exactly where the gaps were I needed to fill. I plan on retesting now that its been over 4 weeks after adding in what I was missing.

I was a bit nervous that this would be an annoying process to capture and send in my milk, but Lactation Lab makes it very simple—they send you everything you need (storage for milk, ice pack, postage for return) and all you have to do is express your milk, freeze it, and then drop the package off at the post office. I received my results about a week after sending and it was interesting to see what I could optimize in my diet/supplements to improve my milk. Since I am a pescatarian, I was coming in low in some key areas like iron so now I have the insight to supplement accordingly. I had a few questions about my results and emailed Dr. Canale who responded very promptly, great customer service! There is also a Facebook group where you can ask questions, etc which I am planning to join for continued support. Overall, I highly recommend it!

This is an excellent product allowing breastfeeding moms to understand the composition of their breastmilk. There are so many unknowns with the initiation of breastfeeding. As an OB/GYN I know that exclusive breastfeeding is considered best whenever possible but we are often left wondering if baby is getting enough, and, furthermore, if the quality of the breastmilk is sufficient. The process for collecting and shipping breastmilk for testing was simple and the report easy to read and informative. I learned that while the calorie content of my breastmilk was average, I was relatively deficient in several micronutrients/vitamins. I would recommend this product to any breastfeeding mom interested in maximizing her babys nutritional health.

Lactation Lab was able to adjust their recommendations to our lifestyle choices, for example to us DHA that they recommended was plant based. The overall experience of sending the package was great and simple.
