My wife got the kit so she could find out more about her breastmilk quality and see what more she could do to help our baby get the nutrients he needs. The kit came with directions on how to send the sample and the lactation lab website was a great resource for more information. She pumped a few different times in the day for the sample and froze it. You put the frozen sample along with the ice pack in a pre-paid envelope. The results were emailed to her a week later. It was exciting reading the results and seeing what her milk is actually providing to our baby. The report goes over the different things tested and tells you what each item does to help your growing baby. We learned a lot about the different vitamins and nutrients and got recommendations on what to eat more of and vitamins to take to help improve the quality of her milk. It’s fascinating to see exactly what your giving to your baby to help them grow.

This product is genius! I try and eat a very clean and healthy diet for myself and my baby but I’m not perfect. This test showed me where I am a bit deficient and now I can focus on incorporating other foods into my diet. I love it!! I wouldn’t have known any other way and was kinda shocked by some of the results. Highly recommend and would buy to test again in a few months to see if they’ve improved.

I was thrilled to see that the overall quality of my breastmilk was great, and was surprised by several of the insights I gained. I had stopped taking iron supplements and lo and behold, I showed low iron on my test, which can be bad for babys sleep! My results were received in the designated time frame and accompanied by a custom note from the founder to provide suggestions, and she even answered a few questions within a few hours. Highly recommend!

It was so interesting to find out the nutritional contents of my milk! Although it’s a hefty price tag for some, I considered it worth the investment considering this is my baby’s exclusive food for the first 6 months, and I plan to continue breastfeeding for at least a year. Since I’m not paying for formula (which would add up to way more), why not invest in finding out how my milk contents measure up? I was happy to find out some of my levels were great, and surprised to find out some were low (like vitamin C and iron, even though I take supplements for both!). I also found out the caloric count was a little low... which makes sense because, as a new mom, it’s been hard for me to find time to consistently eat! I wouldn’t have had any idea about the areas in need of improvement without these results... and I’m very grateful to have them. I also appreciate Dr. Canales’ emphasis... that this isn’t about finding out what’s wrong with your milk; it’s about optimizing your milk for your baby. As much as I was a little bummed that my milk wasn’t “perfect” in terms of levels, I’ve kept that perspective in mind— this is about optimizing the nutritional content for my little one. She also included personalized recommendations based on the results, and she’s available to answer questions. Glad I got this done— it’s worth it for my little guy’s health and giving him the best possible, healthiest start to life!

When I began my breastfeeding journey I was constantly worrying that my body wasnt producing enough milk or that my baby wasnt getting everything he needed. This anxiety went away completely when I received my test results and spoke with Dr. Canale about my milks composition and how my baby was getting all he needed and that with a few tweaks, increasing my calcium and vitamin C, I could be sure my son had all of the calories, fats and nutrients he needed to not only grow, but also thrive. The test kit itself, is cute and comes with easy to follow instructions. The process takes just a day and though you will need to pump after or between nursings it is not difficult or time consuming. I cant recommend this test kit enough! If you are a nursing Mom it will give you the knowledge and power you deserve, as it is not always an easy road, and you are amazing!

This is an excellent test kit. Instructions are easy to follow and send back. The results are great as well. Stephanie writes you a detailed email with your results letting you know if there is something you can improve on. I am actually going to re test in the future to see if I got the results I wanted ! Just a couple things to work on. It’s nice to have a peace of mind and know that my baby is getting quality milk.

As a new parent I am always questioning myself. Now I can safely say that my baby is getting all the nutrients she needs from the foods that I am eating. Plus they gave me tips on food choices . Id do it again in a heartbeat, plus they give you a discount when you return.

I eat a nutritious and balanced diet but I have malabsorption and was worried about the quality of my milk. I was happy to find that milk testing is possible and very easy to do. Everything was simple and straightforward as far as doing the test. Dr. Canale assured me that the overall quality of my milk was good but I was actually sad to find that my malabsorption is affecting my milk to some degree. But that is something I needed to know for my babys sake. I have been taking the additional supplements that were reccomended as well as a few others that my doctor reccomended when I brought the results in to him. After doing the retest the vitamin A in my milk is now at a healthy level so that was good to see. The calcium is still optimal and that was reassuring. But some of the other vitamins had gotten lower in spite of supplementing. So I am following up with my doctor for additional help in making sure my baby and I get the nutrients we need. As we get him more and more nutrients he is tending to sleep better most nights and he continues to thrive. Although overall my baby was thriving and my health is fairly good this did teach me some things about my health and my baby and I are doing better as a result. Additionally my baby has benign sleep jerks that had become worse. An EEG confirmed that they are not seizure related. We have found that even though they are still present, they are improving significantly as we increase his nutrition. I am very happy to have gotten my milk tested even though my test results were less than perfect, because in my case it opened my eyes to potential nutritional deficiencies and hopefully before they caused a major issue for my baby. Im also glad that I got the retest because it let me know that some things had improved whereas other areas still needed some tweaking. I would highly reccomend getting the nutritional content of your milk tested if you can and lactation lab makes it simple. I would love to see them test for more vitamins. This is a very nice service to breastfeeding moms!
