> 3 dayI ordered this kit because I was really curious to see what my baby was getting for nutrition from my milk. We exclusively breastfeed as I have with all my children. This was my 2nd kit! I ordered my first one with my last baby. If you reorder for the same child or subsequent children, they give you a discount code, which is already a huge plus in my book. The kit is very easy to use and comes with very clear and easy instructions. But what I was most impressed with was the customer service! The results come in an e mail directly from one of the owners. I love that they deliver the information personally instead of just setting up some basic automated e mail with your results plugged in. She not only gives you your results but she explains everything and gives you recommendations and suggestions if need be. When I read my e mail results it happened to be late at night, I was concerned about a few things with my results so I ended up e mailing her back right away with my questions. I was expecting to hear back from her at some point within the next few days. To my surprise, she e mailed me back right away! It was within 10 minutes. I was blown away! It truly goes to show how much they care for their customers. She could easily just have ignored me with the typical Im not working right now mindset. She was fantastic in answering my questions and making me feel better. She also had great suggestions for me. I cannot speak highly enough about this company and their breastmilk test kits. Thank you so much lactation lab!!!

> 3 dayWhen I began my breastfeeding journey I was constantly worrying that my body wasnt producing enough milk or that my baby wasnt getting everything he needed. This anxiety went away completely when I received my test results and spoke with Dr. Canale about my milks composition and how my baby was getting all he needed and that with a few tweaks, increasing my calcium and vitamin C, I could be sure my son had all of the calories, fats and nutrients he needed to not only grow, but also thrive. The test kit itself, is cute and comes with easy to follow instructions. The process takes just a day and though you will need to pump after or between nursings it is not difficult or time consuming. I cant recommend this test kit enough! If you are a nursing Mom it will give you the knowledge and power you deserve, as it is not always an easy road, and you are amazing!

> 3 dayThe results were so comprehensive and so insightful into where my nutrition and supplementation was lacking. After receiving the results, I knew exactly where the gaps were I needed to fill. I plan on retesting now that its been over 4 weeks after adding in what I was missing.

> 3 dayI came about Lactation lab when I was looking for ways to check the quality of my breastmilk. I was feeling a little low as my baby had reflux issues and a sensitive stomach. I was being told by multiple well-wishers to just switch to formula as it was consistent at every feed and probably more nutritious than my breastmilk. I am a lacto-ovo-vegetarian but cutting diary off because of baby’s reflux issues. As it can be seen, with my dietary restrictions I was concerned if I was doing the right thing for the baby. As a scientifically inclined person, I was ecstatic to see that there was a place that answers all my questions quantitatively. So off I went to their website and bought the mid-range kit. The processing and shipping were amazingly fast. I sent the sample right away and was eagerly waiting for the results. I was super excited to know that my breastmilk actually had more calories than formula! The report was very well detailed in each section. It confirmed the doubts I had about certain deficiencies due to my diet. Dr. Stephanie Canale’s analysis, description, and suggestions were rather enlightening. I had no idea that ADA advises B12 supplements for vegetarians!! Attached is a snapshot of the report. The Lactation Lab results gave me the confidence that my breastmilk was nutritious enough for my baby. It helped me and our family understand why it was ok that the baby was consuming less volume when compared to his formula-fed peers. I will be sure to make the changes and retest in a couple of months.

Greater than one weekIt was so interesting to find out the nutritional contents of my milk! Although it’s a hefty price tag for some, I considered it worth the investment considering this is my baby’s exclusive food for the first 6 months, and I plan to continue breastfeeding for at least a year. Since I’m not paying for formula (which would add up to way more), why not invest in finding out how my milk contents measure up? I was happy to find out some of my levels were great, and surprised to find out some were low (like vitamin C and iron, even though I take supplements for both!). I also found out the caloric count was a little low... which makes sense because, as a new mom, it’s been hard for me to find time to consistently eat! I wouldn’t have had any idea about the areas in need of improvement without these results... and I’m very grateful to have them. I also appreciate Dr. Canales’ emphasis... that this isn’t about finding out what’s wrong with your milk; it’s about optimizing your milk for your baby. As much as I was a little bummed that my milk wasn’t “perfect” in terms of levels, I’ve kept that perspective in mind— this is about optimizing the nutritional content for my little one. She also included personalized recommendations based on the results, and she’s available to answer questions. Glad I got this done— it’s worth it for my little guy’s health and giving him the best possible, healthiest start to life!

> 3 dayIm so glad that I decided to go ahead and try this! It was super easy to use. Directions were VERY easy to follow - just freeze some pumped milk and send off in the prepaid envelope. I got my test results back in a week! Results were easy to read and understand. Highly recommend, especially to anyone who was anemic during their pregnancy and wants to make sure their baby gets the iron they need.

> 3 dayI’ve always wondered what the nutritional value of my milk is and am so glad I found this product! The test was so easy, I couldn’t wait and mailed it out the next day. Got my results after 4 days including the weekend! It is a bit pricey but couldn’t pass up the chance to optimize my milk for my baby.

Greater than one weekI eat a nutritious and balanced diet but I have malabsorption and was worried about the quality of my milk. I was happy to find that milk testing is possible and very easy to do. Everything was simple and straightforward as far as doing the test. Dr. Canale assured me that the overall quality of my milk was good but I was actually sad to find that my malabsorption is affecting my milk to some degree. But that is something I needed to know for my babys sake. I have been taking the additional supplements that were reccomended as well as a few others that my doctor reccomended when I brought the results in to him. After doing the retest the vitamin A in my milk is now at a healthy level so that was good to see. The calcium is still optimal and that was reassuring. But some of the other vitamins had gotten lower in spite of supplementing. So I am following up with my doctor for additional help in making sure my baby and I get the nutrients we need. As we get him more and more nutrients he is tending to sleep better most nights and he continues to thrive. Although overall my baby was thriving and my health is fairly good this did teach me some things about my health and my baby and I are doing better as a result. Additionally my baby has benign sleep jerks that had become worse. An EEG confirmed that they are not seizure related. We have found that even though they are still present, they are improving significantly as we increase his nutrition. I am very happy to have gotten my milk tested even though my test results were less than perfect, because in my case it opened my eyes to potential nutritional deficiencies and hopefully before they caused a major issue for my baby. Im also glad that I got the retest because it let me know that some things had improved whereas other areas still needed some tweaking. I would highly reccomend getting the nutritional content of your milk tested if you can and lactation lab makes it simple. I would love to see them test for more vitamins. This is a very nice service to breastfeeding moms!

> 3 dayThis is an excellent product allowing breastfeeding moms to understand the composition of their breastmilk. There are so many unknowns with the initiation of breastfeeding. As an OB/GYN I know that exclusive breastfeeding is considered best whenever possible but we are often left wondering if baby is getting enough, and, furthermore, if the quality of the breastmilk is sufficient. The process for collecting and shipping breastmilk for testing was simple and the report easy to read and informative. I learned that while the calorie content of my breastmilk was average, I was relatively deficient in several micronutrients/vitamins. I would recommend this product to any breastfeeding mom interested in maximizing her babys nutritional health.

> 3 dayLoved the e mail I received going over the results and found the whole process easy and informative. There’s so much anxiety that can come up around breastfeeding and every little bit of support counts. This test is a great way to learn more about nutrition and to feel better about breastfeeding without feeling too obsessive or confused.
