This was advertised for a Porter cable sander model number 7336 which came with a vinyl stick on face. The one sold is for velcro face. The seller said that Amazon improperly advertised it. Now I will probably have to pay shipping to return it.

Stepped up from some other pads from a popular store. These pads are shaped better, work better, and seam more durable (time will tell). Results from first car detail using these was awesome. Great pads.

This doesnt look a bit like the Lake Country backing plate that I bought from a well known online auto care site. Although neither of them have a manufacturer name on them, the one from the specialty site is thicker and has 6 rivets. Since that site is recommended by people who are really into car care, Im pretty sure they are selling the real thing and that this is a cheap imitation. I gave it 2 stars because I suspect this will work OK, but it sure appears that it was misrepresented and I dont appreciate that one bit.

I had the original for years. It was perfectly reliable for over 100 restorations. One day it just blew apart. Huh? I noticed another reviewer with a similar experience blaming the Texas heat. That was an easy calculation for me. An aha moment. My original worked in New York then Virginia and died here in Arizona. When its 117 degrees here, the shop is easily 125 degrees. My new one will be removed after use and stored in the Laundry Room cabinet. I dont see any reason why this one wont give me the same reliable service and life cycle using that precaution. I expect I would still have the original had I thought about the heat.

Purchased the backing plate for my random orbital buffer (porter cable 7424) I purchased this for the purpose of 1: polishing / paint correction: (wife who frequently runs into things.. and two boys who like to ride their bikes/scooters/ rollerblades/ skateboards into our cars 2: waxing/ sealing the paint. I own one car and one SUV... and waxing the SUV is an all afternoon affair with two coats of wax. A friend recommended the PC, and I read about the different pads, and polishes on autogeek.net. This truly cuts down on the time required for buffing, polishing, and removing the wax. I can apply the wax in 30 mins. and remove it almost as fast. By hand it would take 3 hours. the other thing I love about it is there is no streaking when using the PC. As for the backing plate, its easy to attach. it fits a variety of pads... and seems pretty sturdy. I highly recommend it.

Just as expected. Fits my Harbor freight DA polisher.

The backing plate does not wobble and really grabs on to the hook and loop foam pads. I was able to use it on my 6dual action polisher(with 6 counter weight), and was a breeze to install. Great quality and price!
