Lake Country Dual-Action Backing Plate, Flexible Plate with Hook-and-Loop Fastener, 3 Inch, Black and Yellow with Inner Steel Construction

I had the original for years. It was perfectly reliable for over 100 restorations. One day it just blew apart. Huh? I noticed another reviewer with a similar experience blaming the Texas heat. That was an easy calculation for me. An aha moment. My original worked in New York then Virginia and died here in Arizona. When its 117 degrees here, the shop is easily 125 degrees. My new one will be removed after use and stored in the Laundry Room cabinet. I dont see any reason why this one wont give me the same reliable service and life cycle using that precaution. I expect I would still have the original had I thought about the heat.

Didnt like it. Wobbles bad tried to use it but got Annoying. A company well know as lake country and their products should have better quality control on their products. Now i need to wait for a replacement hopefully the new one doesnt wobble

This supplier did not send what is pictured for the product. Another unhappy customer posted a picture of what I guess most of us got. There are several of us who received the inferior substituted product. We received a cheap piece of junk which had no spindle in the center. An adapter is needed to make this work and the quality is nowhere near what is pictured. Avoid this!!

My original Porter Cable backing plate finally disintegrated after 14 years. These Lake County backing plates are a favorite among detailers so I gave this a try. Right away when installing on my buffer, I could see that it was defective. When I turned the disc by hand, it had about 1/8 inch of runout. My suspicions were correct when I put a pad on and tried polishing. Because the backing plate was crooked and not balanced, the buffer shook violently when operating. I returned this baking plate and bought an original replacement a Porter Cable.

The backing plate does not wobble and really grabs on to the hook and loop foam pads. I was able to use it on my 6dual action polisher(with 6 counter weight), and was a breeze to install. Great quality and price!

I was afraid of recieving something else after reading the reviews I ordered without reading the reviews as lake country have great products. I recieved exactly what was pictured and works great with my portal cable da polisher.

Great backing plate! Great price and awesome grip on the loops for attaching pads. Once pads are on, they are on!
