Put this on a table 4 or 5 feet from the bed. We use this to just touch the top of our bodies while on the bed. Keeps us very cool without AC at night. Granted, I live in Oregon where summer nights are usually in the 50s, but the house on the second floor is in the mid to upper 70s. I know, Really? You still need a fan? :-) I bought this fan after sleeping several hot summer nights in SE Kansas. It kept us cool enough to sleep through the night. So we had to have it for Oregon.

If all you need is an extremely powerful 8 wide stream of air, this fan is perfect. It is loud but it moves an enormous amount of air. Has a heavy duty cord of sufficient length (6 to 8 feet long) and two outlets on the body of the fan rated for 10 amps total. Great for garages and construction sites.

I bought this fan at the beginning of May and it worked for less then 4 months. It developed and grinding/scrapping sound that is so loud and worrisome that it renders it borderline unusable. I reached out to Lasko directly via their website requesting assistance a week ago and have received no response. Im guessing that I purchased at defective one, given the generally positive reviews, and I was happy enough with the fan while it worked. I am hoping that the company will notice this review and reach out to resolve my issue. Edit: While I wont claim that they were fast, I will say that Laskos customer service did make my situation right. They sent a complete replacement after I answered some questions. The replacement fan seems to work fine, so I am reasonably satisfied with the result. Updating the review to a 4 out of 5 since the fan still broke and the issue took a decent amount of time to resolve.

This fan is worth it. I am so impressed by the temperature of the air that comes out of this. Perfect for treadmills in garages or hot days on the porch. I might buy another one!

Ive had their previous blower fans and hated they covered one side with the plugs and control switch. Well seems they finally noticed their error and you have this great model. Its not drastically faster airflow but its noticable. Now the only gripe I have is they limited the range of motion. The older models would rotate all the way around. Sure they got stuck on the same foot but at least it would rotate all the way around. This one will rotate all the way back to blow horizontally backwards but rotating it down stops at about 45° and no longer will blow right at the front foot but honestly thats minor. I did use these at times for above door air curtain fashion. But for the better airflow Im accept this minor limitation. The noise created on low is just as loud as all previous models so dont expect it to run quietly. If youre new to this fan expect it to be as loud in low as a box fan runs on high...at a different frequency of course. Because its made of plastic you do not want to drop it because it will likely crack. My other were pretty sturdy and dropped really hard a couple times but survived. Sorry Im not going to drop mine too test for you ;) In summary, if you need a strong blower fan you can feel from 20ft away and has plugs on it (music of course) then this is the ultimate champion. Thanks Lasko for another better designed blower fan.

I now buy these blowers instead of fans because I get cooled off so much faster with these powerful blowers. This is my second one, little larger than my other one. They circulate more air faster and with more force.

Based on the reviews I expected it to make less noise on the lowest setting. There is no way I would even set this fan outside of my office door all day. If you are looking for a near silent fan on a low (or any) setting then look for something else. I do like that its adjustable to point airflow up/down. I’ve only just received it so I can’t comment on long term use/quality. Other than noise level it seems like a decent unit and work well in a shop/garage.

I needed a fan or blower that could move good air volume down a long hallway upstairs, and boy does it work well. It replaced an aging Vornado fan I previously used. This unit provides better focused air flow, is no noisier than the Vornado it replaces, and is easy to adjust the air flow using the pivoting blower head. Also less expensive than any comparable Vornado fan product that could serve the same purpose. I plan on ordering a second one for down stairs to use to pull or push fresh air in/out of the home at the end of a warm day when things have cooled down.

This fan blows quite well on setting 1. Settings 2 and 3 seem to work a lot harder, and use more power, without a large increase in output. So, for me, setting 1 should work fine, without stressing the fan. Overall, very satisfied. Im rating a 4, a 5 would require longevity, so well see.
