Its not necessarily THAT quiet, but the nature of the noise it makes keeps you from almost EVER noticing that its on. You just instantly mentally tune it out, and its actually quite a pleasant sound. But we havent even talked about the sheer AIR this thing moves. Wow. I have a studio that gets hot when im not home and when I get back and turn this thing on after opening the door, it takes about 3 minutes for the ambient room temperature to drop like 10 degrees. Its nuts. Cant recommend enough. Im buying another one just for under my bed, provides great white noise for sleeping and keeps so much air moving in the room, its wonderful. If you want, you can sleep in a wind tunnel =)

I bought this to dry out a porch rug but have been using it for many other things like drying towels, drying upholstery after cleaning, drying paint on surfaces - plus my dog absolutely loves laying in front of it. Its pretty much his fan now. Not as loud as those fans you see in shops and job sites, it is more similar in noise level to indoor fans.

I live in the PNW. Most of the places here do not have air conditioning or decent central air. Heck, in some places, air conditioners are against the HOA rules. This fan has transformed my incredibly humid and hot room (if its 80, itll feel 90 minimum) into a somewhat cool room. Now, it isnt an AC at all, but the amount of hot stuffy air it takes out is enormous. The days of me feeling incredibly sticky and sweaty are gone. I also have a projector in the room that adds SIGNIFICANT heat but this fan completely solves that issue. Pros: -very maneuverable and has a nice rotating hinge with a small profile -one of the best venting fans for its price, size, and power usage -simple to use -great for cooling off when aimed at you (Im a very sweaty person) Cons: -the noise can be a bit loud (about the sound of a portable ac) on the highest setting but thats a compromise thats completely fine by me Overall, a wonderful product!

This is the coolest fan and it really puts out cool air. I love how you can adjust it up or down and also it has 2 plug ins on the side. I use it at home, in our camper, and it’s perfect to defrost your freezer. I will be buying another one for sure. Thank you Amazon

Amazingly effective for its size, this low-footprint fan manages to circulate an entire 1400-1900 sqft even on its lowest setting. Weve stationed ours at the bottom of the basement stairs, pushing all the cool air back up to the main level, and its helped immensely in keeping our cooling costs down. Its size and adjustability allow it to easily sit out of the way of foot traffic. Its difficult to feel or hear a difference between all the power levels, but it works well and is quiet enough to still easily have a conversation around. We have yet to use any of the power outlets.

We do not have central air. Just a small air conditioner in a window. We bought an older version of this Lasko fan at least 15 years ago, the same size. Worked great in our bedroom and didnt take up a lot of room. It recently gave signs of slowing down, so we went looking for another Lasko and found this one. Replaced the older fan with the new fan. Husband blew out (cleaned) the old fan and took it to his home office, thinking to use it until it died. Well, the old one is still going and we love the new fan, too. Its easy to adjust height angle and has a good base, so it wont get tipped over easily. It does make a bit of noise, but it certainly doesnt keep us awake.
