We were unable to get it to work with the Sentry 300 gate opener, gave up.

Works very well. Just make sure you have a basic understanding of electrical wiring. Also make sure you have the correct mounting post so that the mounting bracket aligns properly.

Easy to install and program

its way to complicated to program if you have more than 50 codes to put in ,i had 250 to put in took 2 hours wont buy another one

I installed three of them in less than an hour in total.:Put in battery, remove old locks (4 screws) and put in new ones. Setting it up is easy too and takes a few seconds. Im only concerned about battery life or failure but this has to be evaluated later. In our case, with three doors, it is unlikely that all locks would become unusable at the same time so that Im not that worried and. Having not to carry around keys is nice. The lock has a mode where only one button needs to be pushed to open it. I think it would be nice if there was an additional mode, where the lock is disabled and so that the door is always open and no battery life is used. Also nice would be an option a user could chose so that if the battery would fail, the door would be open. Currently, the door will remain locked without power in the batteries. (an emergency plug is present which would allow to power the lock temporarily using an external battery pack and enable the lock).

UPDATE (08/06/2017) Its been over a year and the keypad had gone through a whole wet winter in Northern California. Its still working fine. The only correction to the design I will perform is replacing the useless overhead keypad light with an LED one. The default light is very poor even in the darkest of light. I love products that are well-built. =========================================================== Aluminum cast casing, powder coated, lock&key. Looks really sturdy. I will update on longevity. The last keypad I had lasted 15 yrs. I bought the Heddolf M330-1KA which lasted 6 months. I hope this guy will last longer. If you purchased one, here is the crux to programming, if you made a programming error, exit programming mode then re-enter programming mode. When you are done programming, remember to exit programming mode before testing the programmed code. (The instructions were poorly written and I saw that many people had to call support to get help with the programming.) Fortunately, I am a programmer and know how other programmers think when they designed the user interface. Ill update longevity on 6 months basis (when I remember).

Replaced one run over by a car was easy to install and program

This will be my second keypad of this exact unit that I have used at my self storage facility which supports 150+ customers. So, it has got plenty of use over the years. Its done great, but a customer with a very long trailer accidentally sideswiped it, thus the reason Im needing to get another one. Programming isnt so bad, but it does take a lot of keystrokes to program in one code. Try doing 150! But the instructions are easy to follow, and one shouldnt have any trouble. It takes me about one hour or so to program in all 150. Although it says 480 codes can be programmed into it, you get your choice of some 10,000 codes to pick from using four digits. Just a great, solid, reliable, very affordable keypad that Ive used outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions. In freezing rainy weather, it is a good ideal to cover it, otherwise keypads will get stuck. With my automatic gate, there are only a few wires you need to hook up to it. I couldnt be happier with this keypad. UPDATE March 12, 2016: Not too long after I wrote the original article, I was able to fix the keypad which just had a broken case, so I put it back in. So 17 years and still going strong. Use this new one as just a backup now, although the original will probably outlast me.
