I replaced an older version (same model number) with this one and immediately noticed a significant increase in Internet speed. Very pleased with it,.

Its a switch, so what else can you expect? The original photo when I purchased this indicated the ports were on the rear of the unit, which is what I wanted. What I received was not what I expected. When I came back to the site, the photo had changed to the unit I actually received. While it does work (its an unmanaged switch - do you really expect much?), I would have rather preferred the ports to be on the rear as it would have fit my desk setup better.

VERY IMPORTANT: This review is specifically about the 8-Port switch. Many features and considerations regarding this switch DO NOT APPLY to other options, especially the 16 and 24-Port versions. Updated May 28th 2015 due to specification changes. Its an unmanaged switch. It gets data from place to place with Plug and Forget simplicity. Why buy this over the less-expensive SE2800? There are several reasons you may want to. I said it at the top and I will say it here again: This review applies ONLY to the 8-Port version. The 16-Port and 24-Port versions have substantially different features and specifications and this review cannot accurately inform you on them. With that being said... Easy installation, appear to give me the speed my ISP is providing. The design would be fine in a full blown network room at the office as you may want to easily patch lines to another switch. Not a good design for home use. If they had to put the light in the back where I cant see them they should have also put the power jack in the rear as well.

True 1GB fabric I see 1.56 upload speeds with this switch if that tells you anything. The downstream is a bit low due to time of day and time of week a lot of folks watching netflix and such but I get over 1GB (check picture) there as well with this switch. With the proper equipment and internet connection and hardware the sky is the limit and over network it is the same maxes out my NVME SSD. Any more is overkill but still 10GB ethernet is long over due for consumers to own whats the hold up lets make it happen folks lets make providers and hard drives the bottle neck again!

After reading reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by the initial quality. Tight little switch, and feels well made. Getting full switched 1Gb/Gigabit rates. No heat or loose connection issues. Works have preferred power and RJ-45 connections on the same side for neatness, but its fine as is...
