> 24 hourIm a professional artist. This is by far the worst gesso I have ever used, including many cheap student-grade brands. It is incredibly runny, thin, and covers poorly. I have $1 bottles of crappy craft paint that have better viscosity. I understand that Liquitex also makes a thicker version of their gesso, but the other brands of professional gesso have been so thick I had to scoop them out with a knife and thin them down for my projects. I still prefer that over this alternative. Bottom line: a professional product should NOT be this thin. Save your money!

> 24 hourMy artist son recommended this to my wife, also an artist. My wife likes this so much weve reordered it ... a larger bottle the second time. We will continue to order this as we need it from Amazon, because the price is great and the service is excellent.

> 24 hourLiquitex never fails to deliver. Ive used numerous brands over the years, generally the cheaper ones found at Michaels and similar craft stores, and if you are at all interested in making a painting full of dimension and quality texture, you need to get something nice and thick like liquitex. The bargain brands are generally thinned down and just dont cut it, but liquitex always provides nice, even texture and lasting quality. Like most acrylics, it drys relatively fast, so unless you are skilled you might want to add some retarder that slows down the drying process and allows you to paint like you are using oils.

> 24 hourArtists use gesso all the time to prepare painting surfaces, over many years I’ve used gallons of acrylic gesso in clear, white, and black. This gesso dries milky, not clear. Cannot recommend.
