My old MX518 became victim of the infamous loose cable disease [which Im trying to fix because its one of best mouses (mices?) out there in the wild]. I decided to give this newer version a try but was skeptical of its quality due to the low low price point. Ive been using it moderately for close to a year now. At first it felt pretty much like its predecessor but over time its beginning to feel cheap, especially the scroll wheel. Its fine, though, for the price. I wish the original mice from that era that are out of print (MX518, G400, G9) werent so darn expensive *sad face*

I bought a few of these (two initially and one recent replacement). People have made videos online about how to repair the switches when they stop working. They arent hermetically sealed, and probably dont use corrosion-resistant conductors (such as gold). They are Chinese switches and they stop working right after about two years. Of the two I bought initially, one got very heavy use and the other was seldom used at all. Both failed at about the same time. If youre going to drop $100 on a gaming mouse, look for one that doesnt contain defective switches.

Glory days are gone pc players. The mouse is good, not sure about the negative reviews. Buy some weight tape and add on the bottom this will stabilize the mouse. Coming back to gaming after a decade hiatus, man razor still sucks. Deathadder right it really lived up to the hype added a lot of death on my part, they never closed the gap with Logitech over the last decade. Still the same old crap quality 10 years ago, I got fooled by internet reviews big time. Vice versa bad mx518 reviews kept me from buying. Glad I got it though. One down side with this is the gloss, Logitech should implement g500 body which are non slip. Anyways well job done, much better than the hero stuff it may have been more versatile but for all purpose it’s still mx518. I genuinely say thank you for bringing it back. But for perfection g500 non slip body, and heavier. And please don’t discontinue as long as we live.

Everything about this mouse is great except one thing: the mouse wheel makes a sort of high pitched grinding sound when you spin it. If you go slowly, you can feel it grinding against something when rolling it down. Its not a new problem or unique to the one I got. I was researching it and found a year-old video of someone demonstrating the exact same problem, plus others commenting about it. Its a shame, because otherwise this mouse is fantastic, but this mechanical flaw is a total dealbreaker.

Good mouse overall but it feels much more light cheap and plasticky than the original. The original had a bit of weight to it and felt solid. This feels light and hollow.

Does not need any installed software to work, it works right out of the box on Mac, Windows, and Linux (I use it for all three). No issues at all, though if you accidentally click the DPI buttons it can take a minute to get your cursor speed fixed again. Overally this is a really good mouse. I was skeptical because it seems they do not sell this model directly to the USA for some reason, so you have to buy it from a third party vendor who re-imports it from overseas (??? not sure how this works), but the mouse is legit. The only thing I do miss is the option for a free-spinning scroll wheel like in the MX500 series, but I have gotten by just fine so far without it.

Feels like my old workhorse except the left and right click are louder and require a little more effort to depress. Maybe harder switches? Either way happy as an old mx518 replacement.

Dont know if its just the mouse I received, but the mouse tracking feels strange. Cursor moves smoothly sometimes and then all of a sudden stutters for a split second causing me to have to lift the mouse and move it again for the cursor to cross the screen. Movement was better a textured mat compared to my mouse pad or just a hard smooth surface, but disappointed that my old mouse (also logitech) that Ive been using for three years on a mouse pad still works better.
