MagLite - ST3D016 Maglite LED 3-Cell D Flashlight, Black

Great flashlight, would recommend people purchase it. I installed it on the left side of driver seat in Jeep wrangler so i would always have access to a quick easy to find flash light.

Bright LED Flashlight still made in the USA. With the 3 D batteries, makes a passable security tool. My other maglite LED flashlight is still going strong after 10 years, I expect no less from this one.

Awesome! Super bright, much better than the LED replacement bulb in my prior 3-D.

Great light thats bright ...

I am a huge Maglite fan. These flash lights are sturdy, dependable and can second as a self defense tool. While I do not advocate beating someone with it (unless of course, it is self defense) this is definitely a multi-use tool. I do believe that everyone should carry one in their car. I like them so much that I have sent them to multiple people as gifts. It makes an awesome, unique and lasting gift.

The price is OK for this item. The build quality is good for this item. The light output (brightness) is as expected and the expected battery life (I did not confirm) is great to use this flashlight as a light source in a power failure. What is disappointing is the beam pattern. The focus never puts out a clean window of light. At worst there is a black artifact in the center of the light output, at best you ALWAYS have to play with the focus to get a just OK pattern. I guess this would be OK for using while taking a walk, but just OK at best. I have 2 other brands of LED flashlights that are less expensive. I am clearly not comparing the lights as these are brighter. I bought the Maglite for battery life, but the other 2 have a focus system that put out a very clear artifact free circle that varies in size from minimum to maximum without distortion. With the very good quality of Maglites construction and bulb/battery technology, I am disappointed with the actual purpose of this item, the light output. Ive read similar complaints from other users on this light and the 2D Pro Maglite which I was also considering buying. I will not buy or recommend these until the beam focus is improved.
