Greater than one weekI heard a snarl from a raccoon from the darkest corner of my backyard one night while waiting for the dog. The dog, who had taken to laying on the patio instead of doing whatever it was he woke me up in the middle of the night to do, gave me a look that I immediately matched as akin to the feeling I felt in that moment. Needless to say, we both went back to bed. The next morning I ordered this Maglite. I picked this one specifically because I felt it looked tough enough to beat back the raccoon menace. Indeed, it looks and feels like the type of flashlight that I might want to smack an animal thats attacking me with. Considering things now, it might also serve well as a club when fighting off an angry mob. As for brightness, this flashlight is bright. How bright? Its so bright that its 130ish lumen light is bright enough to make that raccoon consider some of its life-decisions: if the dog and I can illuminate that far corner of the backyard so well with a flashlight that could double as an angry-mob-smacker, then maybe trying to eat them wouldnt be such a great idea! Ive owned this thing long enough to have replaced the batteries a few times. I bring it on dog walks after dark, into the backyard with the dog as previously described, and when bringing the trash can to the street - an action that tends to draw the attention of the neighborhood possum. And lets face it, youre screwed if a possum sees you without a powerful flashlight (extra points if its stylin looking). The only way this flashlight could be better was if it was either green or orange. Also, it would be nice if Maglite made cut-out filters we could tape over the end. It would make me feel more comfortable if the light this flashlight projected was roughly the same shape as the bat signal.

> 3 dayI live alone and walk my dog down lonely streets at night. I like to carry this as a backup light source to find my doggies mess and alternatively as a weapon of mass destruction against cranial damage if such situations were to arise. Great product! Very sturdy!

Greater than one weekI ordered this as a gift for my grandfather and he loved it. The batteries really last a long time and the light is bright enough to light up a whole room.
