I bought this knowing it wasnt going to serve a daypack function. I just wanted one for hikes/working out with a little utility. Thats all you get. There is not enough additional storage for me to really consider this a daypack. You get the bladder area, and one small storage area, good for keys/phone, small snacks, small medical kit etc. But you theres not really enough room to pack a real lunch or a change of clothing/extra shirt like a Daypack should have. I do like the bladder retention system, unlike most others that just provide awkward velcro straps. Seems like it will be perfect for my intended use, as a hydration pack for workouts/hiking/riding/running. Be wary if you want the functionality/storage options of a dedicated day pack. Quality? It seems ok for the price, but its definitely not a high quality pack. Adjustable straps narrow and obviously cheaper quality, as are the small plastic clips. But its fine for what it is. My main criticism is that the bladder area should come lined with insulated material, it doesnt.

Do NOT buy this product unless the seller can guarantee the bladder to be free of the foul toxic taste. I have used dish soap, vinegar, and bleach, and yet, the toxic taste nearly invokes the gag reflex. A chemical is quickly leaching into the water from the plastic. I dont know what it is but I would never let my kid drink the water from this bladder. The backpack is well constructed and fits great but the ladder, IMHO, is useless and quite possibly damaging to your health. UPDATE: 2-17-21 Based on my original review, the seller sent me an updated version of the bladder. I am pleased to report that it is both high quality and odor free. I think that this response to my original review represents outstanding customer service.

After almost a year, I have a easily over 200 miles with this thing and it is holding up great! It fact it still looks new. Still no leaks. It did have plasticy taste at the start, but that quickly disappeared. RINSE AND SOAK IT GOOD. Also, the bite valve is sealed from the factory and you must open up the slit. I was able to figure this out and fix it on trail, while walking despite my 50 year older bad up close vision. It keeps things cold. Yesterday I did 4 hours hike with highs in the 80s and the water was still refreshingly cool at the end.

This one bit the dust. Unfortunately it leaked my first time using it, preparing for a hike, which was outside of my return window. I was so concerned with fit of the bladder in my line gear (I do wildland firefighting) that I just didn’t think the check the seals. Stupid, I know. Just wish I could return and get my money back.

Followed instructions on cleaning before using thoroughly 3 times to no avail. Tastes like drinking out of the garden hose, very plastic like chemical taste. Repeated baking soda then lemon juice even after first use and still taste so nasty I just cant bring myself to drink it. If you were stranded in the desert maybe. Product bag itself is very well made and super usable pockets. Unfortunately I didnt buy it for a rumpsack.

I was looking for ways to keep cool at my outdoor job and remembered military days of having a camelback out in the desert. So I ordered this one and Im impressed. Nice storage pockets, love the hose clip and its made out of good material. Wore it to work today filled with ice water. It has been so nice to have cold, hands free water available when working outside. Fast shipping and great product...might have to get another.

This item is perfect for what I need, just basic day hiking. The pack was bigger than I expected, definitely man sized but with enough adjustability to fit my 5 2 frame, chest strap slightly award, sits under boobies, other than that its great, comfortable padding, decent material and enough pouches for phone, keys, snacks etc.
