Ive been a user of MasterCook for a decade or more. Years ago, serious development stopped on the software, and they converted to an annual subscription model at about $30/year. I was annoyed but inertia kept me with them. The latest news is that MasterCook 2020 is due this month, and the new cost will be $100 to $125 (or more) per year. This is another example, like Quicken or MS Office 365, of companies taking mature software, converting it to the SaaS (Software as a Service) model, and milking what users remain. After considerable research, I have converted to Paprika Recipe Manager 3, which seamlessly imported all 500 of my MasterCook Recipes. Paprika has every single feature that I wanted - and more. Plus, its much simpler to use, even on multiple devices. The direct import of recipes from websites is particularly robust. I have zero association of Paprika, btw.

This is an excellent product. I have used versions 9 and 14 and not version 15. You can import a complete recipe into mastercook.com and then download it to your computer without a lot of keystrokes. Also the price from this seller is $10.00 higher than what others are selling it for.

I used an earlier version for years, not sure I like the upgraded version as well, still like the nutritional part when i add my own recipies.

Software looks like it was written in the 80s and never updated. Wont let you import recipes from other cookbook programs. As a Software Engineer with over 40 years experience, Id be ashamed to put my name of this package.

THIS IS THE BEST PROGRAM OUT THERE FOR SAVING RECIPES AND COOKBOOKS. IT IS SO SIMPLE TOUSE AND GRABBING RECIPES ON THE WEB IS A BREEZE. I HAVE OWNED ALL MASTERCOOKS PROGRAMS SINCE THEY CAME OUT YEARS AND YEARS AGO. AND I HAVE OVER 1,300 COOKBOOKS SAVED RIGHT NOW TO THIS GREAT PROGRAM. IT IS SO EASY TO SEARCH TO FIND A RECIPE ONCE YOU HAVE SAVED IT AND IT IS GREAT TO BE ABLE TO PRINT A GROCERY LIST. I LOVE TAKING A NICE READABLE PRINT LIST TO THE GROCERY STORE. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS GREAT PROGRAM. I LOVE IT!!

After a year of use I learned that to continue use the full features of the program and to access recipes it has stored on line requires an annual subscription. That started out at about $20 per year. A year ago I was shocked when I was notified the annual rates were increasing. Now it is up to $120.00 a year. Highly suggest you do your own research at their web site.

Fantastic program. I just recently purchased this because of the new $180 a year subscription by the Cookn/DVO program. I was NOT about to start paying that amount for a recipe program. Anyway, that situation put me in search of an alternative. I found Mastercook 15. I have Windows 10. Everything works flawlessly on my desktop computer and also on my ipad. I really like that you can insert additional photos as demonstration pictures aside from the main photo. I also really liked the fact that I needed to convert my prior recipe backup from BigOven and was able to send that file to Mastercook, whose techs converted it to the mastercook file so I could flawlessly import it. AND Mastercooks techs took care of that in ONE day. Bravo. (When I purchased Cookn, they charged me $10 additional to buy a program that would convert my recipes to the .dvo files.)

I used MasterCook for years as a very happy cook. I think my original version was MasterCook 5. I saved ALL my grandmothers recipes on it. When this version came out it wiped every recipe I had saved for about 20 years from the storage unit. I am very sad. These can never be replaced I WOULD SUGGEST NO ONE BUYS THIS PROGRAM SINCE THEY DO NOT SAVE YOUR RECIPES. There was no respect for my years of work and the importance of saving the family treasures.

Im not as enthusiastic about this program as so many others here. It looks very rudimentary compared to similar programs. It works, but the way it is set up it looks like something from the early 90s, which is pretty much the stone age for software. I had a problem where the program became corrupted somehow. It was working fine one day and wouldnt boot the next and I hadnt done anything in the meantime. Luckily I had only started to use it, but I would be very annoyed if I had a lot of recipes loaded already. Tech support did answer me and told me to delete it and reload which I had already done. When I asked if they knew why this happened because I didnt want to lose recipes again they blamed me for not waiting until talking to them first. Huh? I did exactly the same thing they told me to do and lost the recipes. I thought their response was a bit snippy, but at least they did answer me in a timely manner. I would not buy this program again though.

This software is a must have for those of you who want to organize your recipes and know the nutritional information too! I am in the process of importing all of my recipes and genuinely enjoy how easy this product is to use.
