This was a better quality replacement than the original. It holds the hood on my car open and it also closes it smoothly when I push down on it. I am so happy! No more using a vice grip to hold the hood up!

Very simple install once you learn the “flathead screwdriver to release the clip” trick.

Purchased for my 2004 Solara good support. It was simple to replace, good lighting helps with the removal of the worn unit. Should have done this years ago instead of using a 1/2 PVC pipe to hold up the hood. Good buy.

Was easier to install than it was to get OEM factory installed unit off. Good job holding gate in proper position.
