I got this as Christmas present for my just turned 2 year old Grandson who loves trains. He loves it. He caught on quickly how the magnets worked. It is the first toy he gets when he comes to Papa and Nonnis house.

The cars are all too long. When trying to go around a turn the cars fall off the track because each individual one is too long to handle it. Same problem with inclines in the track. Their wheels fit fine into the track though.

This was a gift for my 2 year old great nephew for Christmas. As soon as he saw it he immediately forgot everything else and wanted his mom to open it up for him to play. Great case for storage also.

My 2 year old became obsessed with trains so we bought her this for Christmas. She loves them! Plays with them often. The magnets on them are such a nice feature

These painted wooden train cars were a gift for my preschool son and have held up well in play with his other wooden train set cars and track (Battat, IKEA, and Melissa and Doug). He is not always super gentle so the pieces must be durable. The designs are more detailed than some of his other train cars, so I would definitely consider gifting the set to another child.

This was my 2 year olds very 1st train set, which hes been loving and very excited about! However, he does have trouble keeping the pieces together since the magnets arent all that strong. Also, my son, like me, is very OCD about things... so right off the bat he was very upset/confused as to where the 9th train piece was. I dont think he realized one of the slots had been empty when he first opened it, so when he cleaned up he was very mad that he couldnt find the last piece (which didnt exist). With that said, I think it is VERY dumb to create this toy with 9 slots but only 8 pieces. Either rethink the storage/packaging or simply just add a 9th train car piece!
