> 24 hourMy granddaughter started authoring stories as soon as she learned to read. She is now authoring short stories and assembling them into books with age-appropriate words for her age. This book will excite her love of words even more and improve her communication by moving her skills beyond phonetic spelling. This dictionary is well laid out and reinforces her knowledge of words she knows and generates interest in higher levels of language. For the word lover or the language challenge child, this dictionary and a caring guide (parent, grandparent, or teacher) will increase the success the child will have.

> 24 hourMy son is in the 3rd grade and has to write weekly definitions to his spelling words as a homework assignment. I tried several dictionaries out and couldnt seem to find the right one for him. The 1st one had words that were way too small. The 2nd one was a large print dictionary, but I found that it didnt give descriptive definitions and it didnt have all of his spelling words inside. I was starting to get discouraged.....and then I purchased this dictionary. IT IS WONDERFUL!!! I go on and on about how thrilled I am with it every time my son and I use it. The writing is just the right size and there are many colorful and descriptive pictures to help further explain some words. I have found every single word in it. It is thick. The first time that I purchased this dictionary it appeared to be a used product. It had a few scratches on it and a few marks on some pages. I contacted customer service, and I received a replacement the very next day. Now THAT is some speedy service! The replacement was in perfect condition. I just chalked it up to knowing that these things happen from time to time. The issue was resolved in such a timely manner that it didnt even matter anymore. PLUS...I was so thrilled with how wonderful this product was that I couldnt be anything but thrilled about it. I have no complaints whatsoever and I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with an elementary aged child.

> 24 hourI bought this for my 8 year old. The high school dictionary we had was too overwhelming for her. This is a wonderful first dictionary for elementary kids! The writing isn’t quite as small as the high school version, there are pictures for some entries, the definitions seem a little more simple, and each letter is color coded on the edge, which makes it a little easier to find say words that start with “L”.

> 24 hourAlthough there were several reviews posted regarding errors in the book, once I received this dictionary, I carefully looked through and it does not contain the errors mentioned. They seem to have corrected not only the cover where individuals stated that compass was spelled wrong, but also errors inside the book. I bought this for my 11-year old son who wished to have a dictionary for Christmas. It is a good starter dictionary that can be used along the years. I highly recommend.

> 24 hourPurchased this along with another dictionary for an older child, and this Elementary Version beat the other hands down - in the way its laid out, quality of the paper and print. The book is heavier than most, because of the quality of the paper - but its not a 3 or 4 inch book. Its for kids, so I dont expect every word is included. It should get her by for quite a few years. Giving it away as a gift.

> 24 hourGreat for children learning how to look up words and thier pronounciations. The words could have been in a larger font but other than that it was ok

> 24 hourThis dictionary is very comprehensive, easy to navigate and very sturdy. Many of the pages have illustrations which help kids to visualize the meaning of the word as well. I would definitely recommend it.
