> 24 hourThis dictionary is a hardcover. The book is a nice size and gas weight to it. I dont know why that thought it was acceptable to package this item in a bag for delivery with no padding or Cushion. My daughters book arrived damaged, which over rime will become worse. After a brief skim, I like the way dictionary is set up. A great addition to my daughters bookcase.

> 24 hourI bought this for my nine year old and its the best decision I made, the dictionary is perfect its not small like the other dictionaries and the pictures are an added benefit. The errors previously mentioned have been corrected because I dont see them in this copy and the word compass is spelled correctly in my copy. I would recommend it for anyone searching for a good kids dictionary.

> 24 hourMy daughter asks 100 questions a day. I am so glad that now when she asks me what something means, I just point to the dictionary and tell her to look it up! Initially she wasnt too fond of this! Now that its been a few months, she LOVES her dictionary!!!

> 24 hourRemember when you asked for help looking up a word and your parent said, Go look it up in the dictionary! ? This is a good tool to have at home especially for 2nd + as they need to learn how to use a dictionary... per state standards. Came promptly and was new.

> 24 hourI bought this for my second-grade grandson. He gets a lot of use from it now, and there are so many features he can grow into it as well. Its well organized, bright and appealing. He likes to just browse through it. A nice alternative to the Internet for curious kids.

> 24 hourOur usual dictionary intimidated my son and the long alternate definitions for some words left him overwhelmed, so we ordered this and thought it would be a great entry level dictionary. It is easy to use and the definitions are short (so that is a plus for usability), but it is missing a lot of words that I think are reasonable to have assumed would be in even an entry level dictionary (for example, words common in current events or science). It is turning out to not be that useful to us, because many words that my 8 year old needs help with are not in this dictionary. It might be more appropriate for my 6 year old learning to read.

> 24 hourThis dictionary is pretty thick and heavy. It has lots of words listed in it, but does not tell any stories. The words are all listed in alphabetical order separated by syllables using dots. The words are followed by the phonetic pronunciation, then the definition. I wish there were more stories in this book. I dont understand why someone would look up words they dont know how to spell by spelling them and looking them up. It is so confusing. (Insert snarky grin here) In all seriousness, its a dictionary. That should be self explanatory. My kiddos use it for school. I think the spacing could be a little better, but if it were the book would be enormous.

> 24 hourWould have liked to have a few more features but good hardback book with ease of locating words and font size of words.

> 24 hourI like it very much. I bought it for my 9 years old grandson. When he see a word and he ask what does that word mean. I tell him to get the dictionary and he will look it up. He loves to read so he use it alot. Worth the price. Its big and when his younger siblings are older they can use it.
