Loaded up with newest version of pfsense, and it worker perfectly. 2.5gb network ports working for the devices that have that port, no problems. Seller even sent a support email, that I didnt request, with tips and suggestions to get things working. Which I took as a good sign. Would buy from again.

Popped 2 sticks of RAM for a total of 32GB into the barebone version (Corsair Vengeance Performance... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GSS6FLK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) and it booted right up from a usb stick with opnsense. I installed on an old intel 180GB ssd drive I had already. SSD mounts nicely inside and cable was provided which is great. Stays warm at about 58C but this seems expected. This thing is a beast so far. Using it with Orbi RBR50 mesh network in AP mode. Works great. Also have a DMZ raspberry pi webserver isolated. Working on getting 1Gbps Wireguard VPN working.

No issues. Item arrived much quicker than I expected. I got the bare bones version as others complained about getting misconfigured systems. This also allowed me to get specific RAM and HD and was less than the pre configured one.

All started when boot usb drive of my mighty Edgerouter lite died, so when looking for suitable replacement for the usb drive I came across pfsense. pfsense looked like the right solution so I decided to give it a try and ended getting this PC. It’s CPU supported AES-NI instruction and since it has the third generation of intel 2.5 nic cards, this sound like a nice box. The box itself came pre-installed with pfsense, but I re-installed the machine from scratch for my piece of mind.

This is a wonderful value when compared to protectli or others. I do not think the heatsink is as good as it should be as the device runs around 45 degrees celsius according to PFsense dashboard. I added a 40mm usb fan that I had laying around just sitting on top of the unit with 1/2 inch spacing and it now runs at 35 degrees celsius. Huge improvement. Ordering this to run on low speed: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MWH4FL4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2AW0W4FKP16S5&psc=1. and it should cool nicely. Im a media horder who runs a usenet pipe almost all the time. AKA constant downloading. This device replaces a HP T730 thin client that fried after a year. Oh, this comes loaded with PFsense on ZFS. Mine came with current 2.6. Saved me a lot of work. 2.5G ports is another bonus as I cant afford to upgrade yet but am planning on. Havent tried but willing to bet one could install Mikrotik router or switch OS on these was well.

    Greater than one week

Runs pfsense w/o a hiccup. If I could wish for improvements itd be a more recent / powerful cpu and wi-fi. As is, it has no problem pushing 1.2gb on my 1gb internet.

This system works perfectly for pfSense, and for much less money than NetGate charges for similar performance. I do wish there was a public page somewhere that lists firmware updates for this, but I cant find one.

I was surprised to see that PFSense 2.6.0 was installed, but I wiped the drive and did a fresh install of PFSense. Setup was easy and getting it online just took minutes. My old router needed to be rebooted every couple of weeks, Im hopeful this firewall setup will be more stable!

I purchased the barebone unit because I wanted to choose the brand of RAM and mSATA drive. I ended up purchasing 2x Micron Crucial 8 GB and an INDMEM 256 GB SSD. Like others have reported, after setup the unit that arrived would not POST or boot with both SODIMM slots populated. A quick swap test revealed that slot0 would recognize the RAM but slot1 would not. HUNSN was quick to respond to my messages and with the details I provided they had a replacement unit on its way the next day.
