Runs OpnSense like a champ. So far it is solid and fast, and Im not seeing any heating issues. I DID buy an 80mm USB fan to set on top of it, but I really think that is overkill unless you are running multiple end-to-end VPNs or IDS/IPS that is keeping the CPU spiked. So far Im very happy with this device.

The PC itself is great. Using mine with pfsense. I did have a ram stick die shortly after getting things running, but the seller actually responded pretty quick and resolved the issue.

Purchased for use with pfsense. In reply to the single three star review saying you cant install pfsense: The current 2.6 Community Edition (CE) does not support the new intel i226 NIC used in this box, however the latest version of pfsense+ does and can be upgraded to for free from the community edition. Its a bit of a pain, but youll need a USB NIC to act as a temporary WAN to allow 2.6 to fully boot, then upgrade to pfsense+ at which time the internal i226 NIC will be recognized and work as expected.

Popped 2 sticks of RAM for a total of 32GB into the barebone version (Corsair Vengeance Performance... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GSS6FLK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) and it booted right up from a usb stick with opnsense. I installed on an old intel 180GB ssd drive I had already. SSD mounts nicely inside and cable was provided which is great. Stays warm at about 58C but this seems expected. This thing is a beast so far. Using it with Orbi RBR50 mesh network in AP mode. Works great. Also have a DMZ raspberry pi webserver isolated. Working on getting 1Gbps Wireguard VPN working.

As the title states, it will no longer power on after 5 months for no apparent reason.

Setting this up as a router with OPNsense and AT&T Fiber internet. I did not know this until after but there is a compatibility issue with the Intel I225-V nic and one of the gateways that AT&T Fiber uses for GPON/ONT setups (Pace 5268AC). It will not negotiate at all and is essentially dead. This can be worked around by placing a switch between the gateway and this device.

Its a great little unit and does a perfect job exactly as advertised. I can go on about the product but its obviously an established product and being recommended by multiple websites and people that are much more knowledgeable than I am. What I do want to mention however is the support they provide and the genuine care for what they sell. If you write to them, they will reply back with actual helpful information. Never heard of them prior to researching into these open code router firewalls but I can see why this seemingly obscure company gets a mention amonst the fussy and nische crowd. Good on you Hunsn, keep up the good work and tks for your help so far.

This is a wonderful value when compared to protectli or others. I do not think the heatsink is as good as it should be as the device runs around 45 degrees celsius according to PFsense dashboard. I added a 40mm usb fan that I had laying around just sitting on top of the unit with 1/2 inch spacing and it now runs at 35 degrees celsius. Huge improvement. Ordering this to run on low speed: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MWH4FL4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2AW0W4FKP16S5&psc=1. and it should cool nicely. Im a media horder who runs a usenet pipe almost all the time. AKA constant downloading. This device replaces a HP T730 thin client that fried after a year. Oh, this comes loaded with PFsense on ZFS. Mine came with current 2.6. Saved me a lot of work. 2.5G ports is another bonus as I cant afford to upgrade yet but am planning on. Havent tried but willing to bet one could install Mikrotik router or switch OS on these was well.
