Package arrived on time and without damage. Unboxed and installed the same day received. That process went fairly quickly until I noticed a small hiccup. I was in the process if installing ny access point and noticed that the ports were labeled wrong.

Very nice enterprise class router for a fraction of the cost.

The 3011UIAS-RM router is GREAT. Powerful, solid and a great value. I had never bought from this little company. I will definitely buy again. Maybe not for the novice, but powerful and best in class.

I was very happy with this rb3011 router because it worked great and has a lot of features (nice firewall and powerful port forwarding...) Howere, it just died yesterday after 8 months of normal use in rack mounted. Port forwarding gave out and then the router would not recognize it Mac address. I am unable to access to router via winbox anymore. Had to install netinstall file to restore the router but it is still giving trouble. This is a nice piece equipment provided if it lasted. Just to mention that the reset button in the back of it is useless. That button will not do anything unless you also install the netinstall software at the same time depressing the button.

This router is not for children. You need to have some network background. As long as you do, this router is amazing. Incredibly fast and very flexible. I use the USB port for backup connectivity through a cellular modem and it works well. I have three issues with the router; 1. LCD touch screen is unusable, but luckily not needed. 2. The plug in for the power is poorly designed and easy to accidently unplug. Not an issue once its rack mounted. 3. It would be nice to have more than one SFP port.

I am an engineering prosumer in the sense that as a teleworker, my day to day usage of bandwidth is pretty sizable (multiple machines on multiple VPNs, many connected devices). Having bought and configured the routerboard a few months ago now, Im kicking myself for not doing so earlier. Not only does it do exactly what I need, but I found the RouterOS command line interface quite intuitive to learn and use. The metrics are also fantastic for debugging what went wrong and for analyzing usage. I actually discovered through inspection of server logs that an IP address in China was attempting to brute force login to an SSH gateway I had set up. Moments later, I had a firewall rule that blackholed all traffic from that IP and I could visualize how many packets from that source was being dropped. Needless to say, I have been impressed by the routers versatility and configurability. For interested buyers, I would recommend anticipating banking at least a few hours to learn the system and get the hang of things. One thing that could be improved somewhat is the documentation, but so long as you take your time and reason about what is happening, things generally work as intended. That said, for many users, I suspect the default configuration will be enough to get you going.

I was able to get a substantial pipe upgrade at my residence and found that my TP-Link router was not capable of keeping up. I was thinking of getting a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro, but decided it was not worth the cost increase over the Mikrotik unit as I was not planning on using the Protect side (run BlueIris at home with different cams), but I do use their APs. I was a little worried about the comments on the difficulty of the OS, but initial setup was very simple out of the box. Lots of options to grow here, and I the GUI does not look as slick as the Ubiquiti units, but is a fast very low powered ARM based router. I may update over time as I dig into it, but initial impressions are great and it does not look to be a bottleneck to 500 Mbps speeds.

The RB3011 is a new multi port device, our first to be running an ARM architecture CPU for higher performance than ever before. The RB3011 has ten Gigabit ports divided in two switch groups, an SFP cage and for the first time a SuperSpeed full size USB 3.0 port, for adding storage or an external 3G/4G modem. RB3011UiAS-RM Unit comes with 1U rackmount enclosure, a touchscreen LCD panel, a serial console port and PoE output functionality on the last Ethernet port.
