This light is so bright. It is so convenient that it is on top of the cage but on the outside so our bird cant get to it. We previously had a light outside the cage that got knocked over. I had to replace the bulb often. Highly recommend this light.

As much as I love this light it has only lasted 4 months before being nearly destroyed. I have a almost 2 year old blue and gold macaw who gets very creative in destroying new things. I set it up as instructed but she has still managed to peel the cage/protector part off and unscrew the “buckles” that secure it to the cage (double parrot cage kings cages). Due to her repeated mischief there are very few led lights that are working on it and several of the metal bars are bent and broken. She is only in her cage for up to 8 hours at most in a day with her usually out for longer on a normal day. Have to say I love it but macaws exceed expectations. Update: I have had the light for almost a year now and it is completely dead. My macaw managed to peel off the metal guard to the point I cannot put it back on. I decided to leave the light on the cage to provide some brightness but she has finally made it so not a single led will light up anymore. Kind of a waste of money...

My bird avoids the light. I am not sure why. I think it is too bright for him.
