The Mora Garberg Carbon is as solid as they come. So I have had a lot of opportunities to field test this knife. I will say that if you’re looking for a solid Bushcraft knife that won’t break the bank, then look no further. The knife has a solid Scandi grind, comes out of the box sharp, a perfect 90 degree spine, and given that it’s carbon steel, it work extremely well with a ferro rod, and flint. I have used the spine to process fat wood and other materials in the field for fire starting numerous times. The blade holds its edge very well. This knife at $60-$80 is the perfect woods man knife. You certainly can by other high end knives (which I also own), but quite honestly this knife performs every bit as well as they do in the field. If you’re a tactical guy this knife can be used for most purposes in that facet as well. Also, if that is your realm (tacticool that is), look on E-Bay. There are better sheath options there for this knife. All in all, if you’re someone looking for a solid outdoor work knife that won’t break the bank, then get this. Just make sure it the carbon, not the stainless if you’re looking to use it for bushcraft.

Ive used it for batoning and other bushcrafting fun. Definitely worth it for the price and a good full tang knife.

I bought this for general use camping, and I’m definitely satisfied with this. It’s solid, feels ok in the hand, and was quite literally sharp enough to shave with when I got it. I’ve used it pretty frequently for the month I’ve had it, and it’s held up great, but I don’t abuse my stuff so I can’t speak to it’s real durability. The only downsides are the loose sheath (which also describes a lot of the chicks I’ve dated) and the fact that using the spine with a ferro rod will make a bunch of sharp little burrs.

This is the second morakniv I purchased, first one was at the recommendation of a friend. I assumed it was so dull because it was cheap, turns out even the 90$ knife isnt sharp enough to use. A 2 year old buck knife I use daily and have never sharpened is much much sharper than this knife. I am sure I could put an edge on a butterknife in 5 minutes that would be sharper than this. Ozark trail, Walmart brand anyone using knives will know what I mean. I will end up putting an edge on this knife, and edit if it takes well or stays sharp. Otherwise, the advertisement of razor sharp is a lie.

The knife was great but the sheath did not hold the knife securely.

Im not a knife guy but I know a good knife when I use one. This knife, full tang, is an excellent value. I have paid considerably more for a knife not as well made as this one.

I’m regretting not having purchased this knife sooner! My experience with Mora knives have all been very satisfactory, but this one excels beyond the others! I hesitated in buying this knife due to the price, but have quickly discovered that it is actually a pretty good deal! It can handle anything you need it to do! Very well thought out design!

Great bushcraft/survival knife. Truly excellent, in fact. Get the leather.

I came across this knife while looking at custom sheaths on Etsy and liked the shape and blade design, so I looked more into this company and blade. I was looking for something durable for camping and hiking, able to retain a good edge, and easy to sharpen - this knife fits that bill perfectly. Out of the box it was razor sharp and I was able to shave hair off my arm. The blade style and thickness are perfect for my intended use, and while it will require more maintenance due to the carbon steel - needing to be oiled and stropped to keep the edge free of rust - its not anything I already dont do to maintain my gear. The plastic sheath is utilitarian and does the job; however, I would not rely on it to keep the knife secured or to last long, based on the construction of the belt loop. There are other models with better sheaths, but I had already planned to have a custom leather sheath made for the knife, so the sheath had no impact on my decision - if you buy this knife with basic plastic-composite sheath I would recommend looking for another sheath. The sheath is the ONLY down side, and aftermarket sheaths arent very expensive. I am a retired Infantryman and have been an avid outdoors-man since my early teens - I would recommend this knife for anyone - an all around good purchase and I can see passing this knife down to my son.
