One of the best nintendo games I have ever played! I love how it gives me the nostalgic feels of the old mario games, with the graphics and extras that still make it feel new and fresh. Love it.

I bought this game several years ago when the DS first came out. My comment here is about Amazons search engine. I specifically stated PS4 games.... yet Amazon threw that request out the window and brought up games for ALL systems! I guess Amazon must have a webmaster with an IQ in the low 2 digit range! THIS particular game is good for the DS, but I wasnt looking for DS games....the first two pages were everything EXCEPT PS4 games!! What a doofus he or she must be!!!

A very fun game. My grandchildren ejoy it immensely. My granddaughter is 7 and my grandson is 5 and they plays it every chance they gets they will play their other video games but you can tell that this is by far their favorite. Its fun to play and keeps the interest of children and adults. Very glad I purchased it. I would recommend this highly a little expensive but well worth it. This is a definite must have for all video game player.

I love Mario. I am a huge Mario fan, and if theres one game franchise that doesnt get old to me, Super Mario Bros. would be the one. The fact that the series goes full circle to the 2D gameplay of the older games means a lot to long-time fans such as myself, and they havent changed a thing! Actually, all changes made are for the better benefit. And they do seem to work quite well. Starting up the game, the first thing I noticed was that Bowser didnt kidnap the princess directly. He sends his kid, Bowser Jr., to kidnap her. After going through the first world, you fight Bowser like the classic NES Super Mario Bros. and drop him in magma. Afterwards, you spend the rest of the game chasing Bowser Jr. as he drags Toadstool across the worlds by her neck. Marios moves are all previously seen before. The legendary jump is still there, plus crouching. You can jump and stomp now, like in Yoshis Island, and do wall jumps like in Super Mario 64. Power-ups are very common as well, and they seem to conveniently be right where you need them. The level design takes cues from Super Mario Bros. 3, with Worlds secret paths that can be unlocked by buying your way through with Star Coins. On top of this greatness, you can store one item on the touch screen for later use--just like Super Mario World! The music is extremely catchy. It sounds cheap at first, but the more you listen to it, youll find yourself humming it even when youre not playing. I also like the power-ups. A Mega Mushroom for smashing through crap in the way, a Mini-Mushroom for fitting through small spaces, tiny pipes and running across water, and also a Blue Shell that lets you plow through foes after running for a bit. That being said, there appears to be no way to fly in the game, but thats fine because it wouldnt help anyway. The levels are restricted to either completely vertical or completely horizontal, so flying is useless. This obviously came from the first Mario game. On that note, the exception to screen scrolling is in water levels, which flow around like SMB3 or World. There are only minor flaws with this game. First of all, Mario seems a bit slow. If youre used to the SMB3 movement of Mario or even the World controls, youll be a bit disappointed to find that they made Marios movements a bit more realistic. He travels a little slower when carrying shells, water currents push you around making swimming your least-favorite thing about the game, and sometimes you try to jump over an enemy but realize Mario clips the front of them, and you get hit. That last thing is forgivable, but the other stuff kinda kills it for me bit by bit. Not to fear, the 1-ups in this game are easy to obtain. Speaking of which, thats one thing that in and of itself is a good and bad thing. Sure, you can run through a level and score like, five lives, but youll probably never game over as a result. Especially since after dying you can easily find another 1-Up in the level, it makes dying useless, so they might as well just not even have lives. Or game overs. Overall, this game took ALMOST everything that made Super Mario awesome (sans the flying, which you dont need anyway) and rolled it into one. Another thing I should mention is that its got high replay value. Try running through the game and trying to unlock everything. You may find yourself picking it up again and again! I barely got the game today, and Im already having memories of it. Nostalgia 2!

I know the name might sound a little weird, but New Super Mario Bros. is a great 2D side scrolling adventure. It all just kind of feels right. There are 8 worlds standard stuff your ice world, desert world, the usual, but they have added some new stuff like these coins that are hidden throughout ever level, there are three in each level. There are two new kinds of mushrooms that you can get one makes you giant and destroy everything in your path which is really very satisfying, and the other turns you into a tiny Mario and lets you get to places that you wouldnt be able to if you were big. The game might seem a little on the short side if you just run through it without getting some of the harder coins or unlocking 2 of the worlds that you can just skip if you really wanted to, but you probably wont. the games about 4 hours long just going through then going back and starting to get all the coins you realize how much stuff there is to get everything it can take in upwards of 20 hours, but you dont have to do that to make the game feel complete you just really need to unlock all most of the levels and beat Bowser. All in all it feels like a really good experience.

I love this game. Its basically like the older Mario but revamped with new tricks and moves. New levels and some old ones too with different quirks. I bought this game for my two daughters, but lowkey, I bought it for myself. I couldnt wait until it came in the mail for me to play it! They dont know I have the game and its not time for gift giving yet (which is about 2 weeks away). I think Ill play it until then lol. One thing Nintendo was always on point with was their Mario games. Nintendo has always been a child to teen system to me, but they always deliver.

Great Product!! The graphics are amazing and you can even get really big or really tiny depending on the mushroom you get. The only issue is that the levels get really hard really fast (into 2nd world) my 5 year son is a video game pro and has trouble with some of the spots in the levels (2 and up). In the old game you did not get into really hard levels until level 6 or 7. This is a great game and lots of fun, I would not get it for small kids unless you can beat the world for them.
