The large size is super big! It will work for a Syrian perfectly. This is such a nice hide, great quality, and even comes with sandpaper for rough edges. My baby coconut LOVES it. It’s so large that it will work as a platform in a cage as well!

I got this for my dwarf hamster for his first birthday, and he loves it! He barely uses his other hides anymore. He uses the back room to store his food and sleep in, and I like to imagine he uses the front room as a sort of mud room. Its really well-crafted and well put together as well, I was surprised by the quality. I also love that the top is totally flat, so its also a platform you can put other things and activities on - it doesnt feel like wasted space at all. I think this is the best purchase Ive made for him yet.

While I love this hide for my syrian hamster, I wish it would have a coating over the wood to protect it from damage (mostly urine). Maybe there is a product I could buy that is hamster safe to apply over the wood, but I am worried about it smelling and becoming damaged overtime. Great size for syrians, and it allows your hamster to create a bathroom section within their hide, so that they can sleep without being right next to their poop/pee.

My hamster loves this hide. He sleeps in it every night. I will say mine did split on the edge after only having it a few weeks, but it will be easy to repair and it still works great. I love it and I love that my hammy loves it.

not sure if its manufacturing defect, the house has a crack, or rather not glued together ? so I ordered a replacement, same problem, same location. and I cant order a replacement of this replacement because amazon told me that its over the limit?! besides this little manufacturing defect, my hamster loves this hideout!
