> 24 hourI purchased a Z370 motherboard and installed an I5 8400 CPU and intended on using the stock cooler, since the chip obviously wasnt going to be overclocked, and runs pretty cool compared to the Sandy Bridge CPU it replaced. That was last November.

> 24 hourIt is pricey but doesnt compromise on anything. Super easy installation process and they even include a long screwdriver just in case you dont have one that is long enough. Plenty of clearance for ram and top pcie slot. Also the included fan is awesome: high performance with low noise.

> 24 houri Love the innovation of the mount style,. I mounted the noctua fan underneath and a 14 inch rgb fan on top , no problems dissapating the 125w tdp of the overclocked i9 with the bonus of dragging fresh air over the VRMs and ram

> 24 hourAfter much research and vacillation between water vs air cooling, I went with the noctua. My Skylake 4ghz clocks to 4.7ghz with this--with water maybe I could get a little more but it doesnt matter to me; I mostly run it at under 4.5 anyway. The fan is dead silent and mounting the fan on top, as shown here, allows my low profile memory not only to fit under it but to be inserted or removed (ATX case). I also like the orientation of the radiator. Why? Physics--the farther out the mass from the point of attachment, the more leverage on the motherboard; this orientation with the radiator parallel to the motherboard keeps the mass close minimizing the leverage--the fan also blows right down onto the memory.

> 24 hourYou cant go wrong with Noctua. I bought this when I converted my old PC into a NAS and the original water cooler was end of life after 8 years! The Noctua seems to keep the temps about the same as the water cooler did. I have a big fan controller on the front and I can see the temps all the time so I know if its getting hot, which it does not. My ambient temps are around 75 max and the CPU is always below 30C, no O/C and running freenas OS. Fan is quiet but not completely silent, gets only a little louder when the fan controller kicks it into high. Still not bad. The case fans are louder.

> 24 hourThis cooler is very big. Can take over ITX boards. Works great keeps 3900xt under 75c at full load.
