17-11-2024I keep an old XP machine around to run backups on my other computers. So when my renewal came up in July, I called tech support to make sure this product would still work on Windows XP because the information on their web site was confusing. I was told that XP was still supported with this product. When I asked how much longer, they wouldnt tell me. Now, less than two months after buying the product, I get an email from Norton saying that support for XP will be ended in early 2021. I can understand not updating the software, but they wont even supply updates to the virus definitions, even though Ive paid for a year of service.

> 3 dayI first tried installing this product by entering the product key. I took a screenshot of the product key to ensure I had entered it correctly. Norton advised me this product key is not compatible with my device, although I have a 1-year-old HP laptop with Windows 10 64-bit Version 1909. But then I tried again, and for some unknown reason, the product key successfully registered to my account. Working fine now!

> 3 dayAllowed me to add another 12 month Norton subscription to my account. Easy to install once you allow the current active subscription to expire. After you download/install on your first device, you can simply update the remaining devices (remotely) by using the new product key.

> 3 dayI had to have Norton Support load my purchase from Amazon. Seemed that Amazon had sold the product key more than once. Norton was good enough to load the product on all four of my devices. I doubt that I would use Amazon to by software products again.

Greater than one week- Very intrusive - Constantly trying to sell other features, such as identity theft - Automatically renewed itself without asking for approval Whether or not it does a better job of protecting my computer, I dont know. I had other protection software and was not hacked or infected. So, I dont know what I dont know. It was dinged two stars for the shortcomings listed above.

> 3 dayIt includes TOOLS to cover every aspect of Windows 10. Give Norton 360 full control and carefully follow screen directions. You cant go wrong.

> 3 dayI purchased Norton product from an authorized reseller. When I tried to activate my subscription, the product code came up as stolen. Norton did not want to honor their product even though I had the receipt and they confirmed it was an authorized purchase. After I threatened them with criminal prosecution for fraud, they then decided to replace the product. After the new Norton was installed, one week later, they charged my account for an automatic renewal at @ $100.00. I had to call in and argue before they finally agreed to take the charge away. I thought everything was cleared up until I tried to upgrade another computer because what I bought included service for 5 units. Now, I cannot upgrade anything except my primary unit even thought my current receipt says I can use it on a total of 5 pieces. Eventually, Im sure it will get worked out, but you have to be available to argue with support techs before they will do their job.

> 3 dayI have been using Norton for many years. However, I hate auto renewal because they dont have, in my opinion, competitive pricing for auto renewal. Once in the last four years did I renew through Norton. For less than 1/2 the price I buy new through Amazon. Yes you have to go through the re-install but in this case I saved $60.00 (USD). Trying convince Norton that for a lower/more competitive price I would have auto renewed is like talking to a brick wall (not a price match with Amazon). Also their tech service has diminished over the past few years. With all that being said they do give you a lot of additional items. I especially like the VPN. Like any VPN you loose a little speed but in most instances it isnt noticeable. If you are somewhat tech savvy and can handle the extra time required to install new. I do recommend Norton. Just wish they would get off the high priced renewal band wagon.
