I been using Norton for five or six years now (maybe more). This the last time I will bother with this piece of cow dung. Oh it was easy enough to install on my two computers, but when it came to my phone it was more trouble than I could take. Here are some of the things I dont like: it used to state in days the remaining time on your subscription, i.e. 365 when first installed, and count down from there. Now it just says active. When I tried to install it on my smart phone, I was directed to Google Play. The crap I got from google was a 30 day trial version not what I payed for. In addition, on the Norton page where they list my protected devices, it says my phone is not protected. Then I hooked up with the support team listed in the upper righthand corner of the page an Indian sounding woman. So I asked if I would have to pay for her help and she ignored the question and continued to ask for information. Obviously it was a scam to get me to pay for something that should have been free. Therefore, this is the LAST TIME I will be using this or any other Norton product. I dont like being treated as a sucker. And oh yes, its next to impossible to find the page where you can opt out of auto-renewal.

I have been using Norton for many years. However, I hate auto renewal because they dont have, in my opinion, competitive pricing for auto renewal. Once in the last four years did I renew through Norton. For less than 1/2 the price I buy new through Amazon. Yes you have to go through the re-install but in this case I saved $60.00 (USD). Trying convince Norton that for a lower/more competitive price I would have auto renewed is like talking to a brick wall (not a price match with Amazon). Also their tech service has diminished over the past few years. With all that being said they do give you a lot of additional items. I especially like the VPN. Like any VPN you loose a little speed but in most instances it isnt noticeable. If you are somewhat tech savvy and can handle the extra time required to install new. I do recommend Norton. Just wish they would get off the high priced renewal band wagon.

I purchase this from Amazon yearly. Norton tries to charge me over $120 for the yearly auto-renewal. I go to my Norton account and turn off Auto renew then when its about to expire I come to Amazon and purchase another year for like $30. Saves me well over $100. The product key is always delivered and it always works. Ive never had an issue with getting the product keys activated. I have used norton products on my computer for over 6+ years Ive never had a virus so I would definitely recommend it.

Good enough, but no matter how many times you reject using one of their features, Norton support will pester the snot out of you to do it. It is extremely annoying.

I know amazon will probably sensor this but norton tech support is horrible, they just push you thru written directions, impossible chat let alone talk to someone, which is weird they ask for your phone #, they probably sell that. I own this downloaded from amazon wont dowmload, ZERO HELP AVAIL. macafee is where u will go

Ive been a Norton user for a long time, going back to Norton Utilities in the 1990s. Their product is excellent, but the new automatic renewal program is a scam. Two months before the renewal date I went into my Norton Account to turn off the automatic renewal, which I did. Two days later I went back to my Norton Account to verify that automatic renewal had been turned off. It was not. I turned it off again. On recheck it still was not turned off. I let it go, knowing that the credit card on file had been replaced with a new card and number. Sure enough, a month before the renewal date Symantec had tried and failed to charge my account. Every day since then I have received emails and pop-ups imploring me to update the credit card info so they could process the automatic renewal. Fat chance. My renewal date comes up in two weeks, and I fully expect to receive a fantastic renewal offer. Too late. I just now placed an order on Amazon for Bitdefender Total Defender which I will install as Norton expires. A very long relationship is about to end. Goodbye Norton by Symantec.

    - Very intrusive - Constantly trying to sell other features, such as identity theft - Automatically renewed itself without asking for approval Whether or not it does a better job of protecting my computer, I dont know. I had other protection software and was not hacked or infected. So, I dont know what I dont know. It was dinged two stars for the shortcomings listed above.

Advantage - I like that Norton 360 Deluxe comes with a VPN built-in and the plug-ins for Microsoft Outlook and Firefox. Disadvantage - I am disappointed that they did not include a taskbar icon or start menu icon (both for Windows 8.1 or Windows 10) to activate / deactivate the Norton VPN; instead, you have to open MyNorton window to access the VPN. As a former senior computer hardware engineer who has also worked on multiple software projects over the years, this was an oversight that can easily be solved for Norton 360 Deluxe customers.
