This has done WONDERS for clearing up my skin! Im a 30 y/o female and have been dealing with some very persistent hormonal acne, particularly tiny white bumps/inflamed pores all over my face. Id tried everything for getting rid of it, short of taking oral medications, and had been to the dermatologist twice, which was no help. This is the ONLY thing that made any difference for me and now I want to tell everyone I know about it. Interesting note: at the time I began taking these pills to treat my acne, I was coincidentally in the middle of an outbreak of hand, foot, mouth disease that I had caught from my toddler. This dried all of my uncomfortable lesions from the virus up within a matter of a couple days! As far as for my facial complexion, I noticed an improvement within about 2 weeks.

I was hoping that taking L-Lysine religiously would prevent cold sores eruptions 100% but alas, it hasnt. At least not yet. I typically get a cold sore on my lower lip about every 3 months or so and Ive found that treating it (early and often) with Abreva does wonders about 50% of the time, does nothing about 30% of the time and 20% of the time I find that the best the Abreva does is make me chase the cold sore around my lip until it finds just the right spot to erupt and then, BAM, I get a lip-mutating cold sore that makes me feel like the Elephant Man for 7-10 days. Good news: Its been about four months since my last cold sore (thats progress, normally its about every 3) and the one that I just had didnt get nearly as big as others have in the past. Yes, I did treat it with Abreva but I also doubled my dose of L-Lysine and I cant help but think that this has helped as well. Ill keep updating as the months roll by - just in case anyones interested in whether or not this works as I build up the Lysine in my system.

Overall health

I take the powderout of the capsules and add one to each of my cats dinner dishes, then mix it with the food. My vet advised me to do this because they both have eye herpes, for which there is no cure. The L-Lysine helps support their imune system. They dont taste it at all if you mix it well with the food.

Updated to say that sweet Curly did not improve and had to be put down. Various antibiotics did not work for him and whatever illness he contracted in the Ohio wilderness. Rest easy, Sweet Curls. ****** I am giving my sick cat one capsule in each can of cat food for his stubborn upper respiratory kitty cold. He seems to maybe be improving, but he is already on 2 kinds of antibiotics. I will also take this myself if I get a recurrence of shingles.
