Be aware you may not get what you think you ordered. Been ordering and taking these for several years as capsules, which have helped to greatly reduce cold sores. Last shipment was tablets instead of capsules even though the pictures here clearly show capsules. Didn’t think it would matter much, but within a week I had a severe cold sore outbreak. The difference in absorption or metabolizing temporarily affected the effectiveness in my case.

I’ve never heard of this brand before, but it seemed to look pretty decent for the price. I definitely wouldn’t buy this brand for say calcium or iron. I’d buy a reputable brand for that. This was recommended to me for cold sore prevention and I didn’t see much of a difference. L-lysine is supposed to aid I’m immune health in turn helping with cold sores. So why did I give three stars? Other than the effectiveness against my problem, I can’t really give a bad review for it not working for me. This isn’t making any “claims” for what I wanted to use it for. HOWEVER the bottle cap just pops off to open. Not really safe for someone who has kids, or someone with mental disabilities. Obviously this isn’t going to hurt you, but it’s a choking hazard. I’d like it to at least have a twist off cap. Maybe some think I’m too cautious, but still.

I take the powderout of the capsules and add one to each of my cats dinner dishes, then mix it with the food. My vet advised me to do this because they both have eye herpes, for which there is no cure. The L-Lysine helps support their imune system. They dont taste it at all if you mix it well with the food.

I am a 28 year old male, who has had canker sores since I can remember. I seem to always get them whenever I binge on sugar (candy/soda) and sometimes will get them 2-3 at a time and they would last for weeks. I have tried all of the home-remedies over the years, some work better than others but nothing has really been my cure. I read online that Lysine helps some people with canker sores, so I figured I would give this a shot since nothing else seems to work. I actually purchased this bottle almost a year ago and have been testing it out since then. I take these pills maybe 1-2 times a week just normally, but the moment I feel a canker sore coming on, I take 3 capsules a day for a few days and every time the canker sore goes away without fully developing! You canker sore people know the drill, you get that feeling in your mouth of a canker sore coming on, and within a few days its a full-blown pain in your mouth for weeks to come. This has worked for me about a half dozen times now where the canker sore just doesnt develop! If you have tried everything else but Lysine, then I recommend trying out this solution. It may not be your cure-all, but I never thought I would find mine until stumbling on Lysine and am so relieved that I did.

I have had cold sores for my entire life. I have usually taken only Acyclovir 800mg once a day. With only that, Id get cold sores about once every two to three months. Since Ive been taking L-Lysine 2000 - 3000 mg a day at night, I havent had a cold sore for over 6 months. So, at night, Id take 4 of these and then another 2 in the morning. No issues or side affects. These are capsules and are very easy to swallow. If youre looking to buy L-Lysine, dont get the hard pills, they are very hard and scrape on their way down when taken. Also, When Ive felt sores coming on, I usually take 2 to 4 of these and use Abreva and Acyclovir and bingo, they either dont show up or Ive actually seen the bumps simply go away. WOW! its worth every penny!!!

Ok I love when this happens , even though it’s very rare but I feel this product working on a day 3!! I read so many reviews where people say they took stronger dose so I did the same thing ( this is not a recommendation what so ever !! I am not a doctor or anything ) but I also took one extra pill on top of a suggested dose and on a day 3, the skin condition I had was half way gone!! To everyone reading this , get this amazing thing !!! Even just as an everyday supplement , it is magical . Just google it and see how powerful it is . I hate that I’m just now hearing about it!!

When I search for NOW L Lysine 1000 mg it quickly comes up with a bottle that says 1000 mg. But when you click on it, it goes to the writing and it is changed into L Lysine 500 mg. I had this on auto ship but now have cancelled that order. I tried 2 times to talk to technical assistance and thought I had this corrected. But I got caught again. I do like the 1000 as that is the dosage the doctor had recommended for us. So for the price, it is more expensive because you are getting just half of what you think you are getting. If you want 1000 mg, you must take 2 tablets instead of just one.
