> 3 dayThis helps so much with fighting viruses. I cant tell if it helps with colds or not, but anything in the herpes family, it helps a lot. I cant have nuts or the CMV (cytomegalovirus, similar to mono) comes back, but if I counter-balance with this lysine, Im fine. It also has helped in treating shingles, which is unbelievably painful, and in preventing outbreaks. Someone gave me biscotti with only a few walnuts in it, and boom, shingles starting. Since using these with ANY arginine-rich foods, Ive been able to avoid getting any more. If anyone else is looking for shingles help, or anything in the herpes family, here is what has helped me the very most: 1. Lysine to compensate for arginine in foods. I use this brand and its perfect. 2. Durhams bee propolis supplement 3 times a day during an outbreak (but only if youre not allergic to bee stings). Or the queens delight, which contains propolis. 3. Vitamin C (I use this same brand in 1,000mg time release tablets) combined with green or black tea. Vitamin C on its own does not help. Tea on its own may or may not help. But when you combine the two, they help a LOT. If you feel the tingling of an outbreak looming, if you do enough tea & C quickly enough, the lesion will never even form! 4. Durhams wonder salve stops lesions from spreading and reduces pain and itching on existing lesions. 5. Vitamin C serum - yes the same kind people use for wrinkles and anti aging - apply this directly to the lesion. I may stop using the wonder salve, as the vitamin C serum seems to work faster. I had an especially stubborn lesion on my ankle that was not responding to the propolis salve (wonder salve), so on a whim, I tried the vitamin C serum I normally use on my face to prevent wrinkles. That stubborn lesion/scar had been itching and burning for weeks after the lesion appeared healed. The C serum cleared it the rest of the way in a few days. I hope this information helps someone else. This particular product (Now Foods Lysine) and their time-released vitamin C are invaluable tools in my Arsenal to fight any viruses in the herpes family, all of which stay with you for life.

> 3 dayBe aware you may not get what you think you ordered. Been ordering and taking these for several years as capsules, which have helped to greatly reduce cold sores. Last shipment was tablets instead of capsules even though the pictures here clearly show capsules. Didn’t think it would matter much, but within a week I had a severe cold sore outbreak. The difference in absorption or metabolizing temporarily affected the effectiveness in my case.

> 3 dayOk I love these.. as a cold sore sufferer myself I found that taking these pills do help... but here’s another thing.. I made my own paste to put on top of my cold sore as well and it worked unbelievably. Here’s my concoction... grab one or two of the pills.. get a small medicine cup, open the pills and pour in the cup, put a few drops of tea tree oil, and a few drops of peroxide, and some sea salt... voila... works sooo good! I leave it on all night or for an hour or so when I have time. This is the only thing that has actually brought my cold sore down dramatically. Do try!! As well as taking these pills too.

> 3 dayOk I love when this happens , even though it’s very rare but I feel this product working on a day 3!! I read so many reviews where people say they took stronger dose so I did the same thing ( this is not a recommendation what so ever !! I am not a doctor or anything ) but I also took one extra pill on top of a suggested dose and on a day 3, the skin condition I had was half way gone!! To everyone reading this , get this amazing thing !!! Even just as an everyday supplement , it is magical . Just google it and see how powerful it is . I hate that I’m just now hearing about it!!

> 3 dayI was hoping that taking L-Lysine religiously would prevent cold sores eruptions 100% but alas, it hasnt. At least not yet. I typically get a cold sore on my lower lip about every 3 months or so and Ive found that treating it (early and often) with Abreva does wonders about 50% of the time, does nothing about 30% of the time and 20% of the time I find that the best the Abreva does is make me chase the cold sore around my lip until it finds just the right spot to erupt and then, BAM, I get a lip-mutating cold sore that makes me feel like the Elephant Man for 7-10 days. Good news: Its been about four months since my last cold sore (thats progress, normally its about every 3) and the one that I just had didnt get nearly as big as others have in the past. Yes, I did treat it with Abreva but I also doubled my dose of L-Lysine and I cant help but think that this has helped as well. Ill keep updating as the months roll by - just in case anyones interested in whether or not this works as I build up the Lysine in my system.

> 3 dayI have recurrent aphthous stomatitis triggered by tomatoes and this has made me never have a trigger again (when I do not forget). I take one of these every morning and have not had a trigger when I remember. I occasionally forget, eat something with tomatoes (its hard to avoid them), and will get a trigger. When I do have an outbreak I take 3 of these a day and it seems to decrease the time I have an outbreak. I hope these reaches someone with RAS well, it took me 19 years to find a solution.

19-11-2024I gave this to my dog per vets advice. He was on medication which brought down his immune system and caused some other issues. We have since gotten him off the other medication and have been giving him 1000mg/day for 3 weeks and his issues have cleared up. I have also been able to start giving this to our puppy who is having issues as his immune system has not fully developed yet. My puppys issues have cleared up as well within 2 weeks of starting this.
