NOW L-lysine 500 mg, 250 Capsules

I have taken 1000 mg of NOW L-Lysine capsules ever since my accident on Sept. 2012. I am a left handed person and was hit from behind by a kid who was not paying attention to my car stopped at the intersection. The tendon in my back was so badly damaged that I was forced to use my right hand for 7 months (that was no easy feat)! I was going to my chiropractor every day and also working with obvious limitations. I like to heal naturally, if possible, so I did some research online and was encouraged to try taking L-Lysine to help me. I like the NOW brand of supplements and take several of them daily, so I ordered them from Amazon (just ordered more because my dbf is now taking them). I credit these capsules (along with the hard work of my chiropractor) with my speedy recovery. My tendon has healed back up and my left hand is back in charge! I still take it every day and will continue to take it. I did not suffer any side effects from it whatsoever - it just helped my body to heal at a faster rate.

use this for my cats eyes, relieves any symptoms of dry irritated red eyes. If she does not have this she squints, eyes draining. worked also for my white cats eyes which are goopy with crusty eyes. her eyes are beautiful and clean with this. I open one capsule/day between the morning and evening, sprinkling the contents of this one capsule and mix into moist food. averaging 250 per cat per day per cat internist. a must for their eye health. recently I have started taking again for myself daily cant hurt

This works very well for us, keeps cold sores from developing or helps so much if they do. I am prone to shingles so taking this product everyday helps keep that under control. I gave 4 stars only because I ordered a bottle on Oct. 28 and have not received it, was not in the box with other items. Havent been successful in getting another sent so Im re-ordering as we dont want to be without it.

I gave this to my dog per vets advice. He was on medication which brought down his immune system and caused some other issues. We have since gotten him off the other medication and have been giving him 1000mg/day for 3 weeks and his issues have cleared up. I have also been able to start giving this to our puppy who is having issues as his immune system has not fully developed yet. My puppys issues have cleared up as well within 2 weeks of starting this.

I have had cold sores for my entire life. I have usually taken only Acyclovir 800mg once a day. With only that, Id get cold sores about once every two to three months. Since Ive been taking L-Lysine 2000 - 3000 mg a day at night, I havent had a cold sore for over 6 months. So, at night, Id take 4 of these and then another 2 in the morning. No issues or side affects. These are capsules and are very easy to swallow. If youre looking to buy L-Lysine, dont get the hard pills, they are very hard and scrape on their way down when taken. Also, When Ive felt sores coming on, I usually take 2 to 4 of these and use Abreva and Acyclovir and bingo, they either dont show up or Ive actually seen the bumps simply go away. WOW! its worth every penny!!!

Long story short, I’ve been taking this L-lysine for about 8-9 months only once a day and sometimes I’d skip a day when I forgot. I went to the doctor for my bloodwork a little over 4 months ago and it came back that I have high cholesterol. That’s very weird for me because we have no family history of this in my family, I’m a good weight, exercise and eat a pretty healthy and balanced diet. After researching and then calling my doctor with the news, I stopped taking L-lysine because I found that it can raise your bad cholesterol and it should only be taken 3-4 weeks MAX. It’s been a little over 4 months now and I’m happy to say that my cholesterol is now back to normal, the only change I made was I stopped taking the L-lysine supplement. I’m sure it can help people, but I do warn you to only take it for up to a month and then take a long break in between. Hopefully, no one has this happen to them and hopefully I have no permanent damage or issues later on because of it. God bless!

Did some internet research concerning rosacea. My understanding is folks deal for years with this often without much success. That was pretty much my story. Part of my wanderings on the net suggested that there was a rosacea link with deficiencies in zinc and Lysine. I ordered the 22mg solgar zinc picolinate tablets and the NOW Foods L-lysine 500 mg, 250 Capsules. I chose these because other reviewers said both were well absorbed by the body and well tolerated. I started taking one each tablet a day with food. My order arrived 5 June 15. As of today (20 July 15), it has almost totally cleared my rosecea up. If I scored a 10/10 on a roseacea scale before, Im probably a 1/10 or 1.5/10 now. Im posting this same recommendation on the Now foods site also.

This has done WONDERS for clearing up my skin! Im a 30 y/o female and have been dealing with some very persistent hormonal acne, particularly tiny white bumps/inflamed pores all over my face. Id tried everything for getting rid of it, short of taking oral medications, and had been to the dermatologist twice, which was no help. Lysine has no flavor so if you can’t swallow capsules you can open the capsule and sprinkle it on applesauce, yogurt, etc and take it that way. You can also apply it directly to a cold sore for great results!

L-Lysine IMO has always been SUPER large pill to swallow easily. I researched this time & came across this one. This is the CAPSULE & is decent size but SMALLER & MUCH easier to take than other L-Lysine pills Ive taken.
