NOW L-lysine 500 mg, 250 Capsules

Use this for immune support and boosting for me and my cats. Really helps us all... colds, flu, energy and allergies so duration shorter, recover quicker and can say it saved one of my cats 6 months ago when real sick. She was throwing up, couldnt keep food down and thought I was going to lose her. I increased her dose to three times a day and gave slippery elm 2 times. The combination and a lot of prayers brought her out of whatever was happening and so thankful for this product. A staple in my house and have cats on it from time they are weaned. Helps a lot for me when I am really worn down and helps shorten flu symptoms for me too.

This is a food suplement that I have used this product for many years.

I take 3 pills 3x/day per Girondas advice for nitrogen retention. Ive noticed better pumps in the gym and all around better vascularity. On workout days I take 3 pills pre workout with my protein and maltodextrin shake and 3 pills after with my whole meal. Ive noticed this also helps with blood sugar control and hunger. Im not as ravenous throughout the day and my workouts have been getting tougher with a higher intensity threshold. Its a cheap supplement, so I definitely recommend it to add it your arsenal.

I purchase many NOW products. Tried this lysine product on cats who take this supplement daily, vital for their compromised immune systems. Unfortunately, it did NOT work well, as with most other lysine brands. The cats started showing symptoms of their chronic infections a few days later. After putting them back on the other (more expensive brand) they went back to remission.... Every family member takes 2,000 mg of lysine daily, so we rather pay a little more money on a brand that works well on cats as our control group. To be fair to NOW, the fact that their lysine does not work well in cats, does not necessarily mean that it will not work well in humans -but for me, it is a semi-scientific observational indication to stay on a brand that works well in our control group

My doctor told me that if I was getting sick or ever thought I was getting shingles or a cold sore to take 1500mg L-Lysene twice a day -OR- 1000mg three times a day with a strong dose of vitamin C. Although I cannot be sure, I thought I was getting the shingles about 2 years ago & immediately began the L-Lysene 1500mg twice a day with vitamin C & it cleared up. Having been a nurse for many years, I have seen & heard about shingles & feel sure that is what I was getting.

When I start to feel a tingle on my lip, I know I’m about to get a fever blister. I hate those things! I take one of these as soon as I can and it won’t form a blister. I don’t take one every day, just when I feel one coming on. Depending on when I take it, it may have to be more than one day in a row that I take it. It totally works.

Im fighting with herpes on my lips and even on the nose for decades. The only remedy is Acyclovir, and lately I had to take 800 mg twice a day to stop it when Im getting sick, or treat when I missed it starting. After Ive bought L-lysine, Im taking 500 mg of it twice a day for a month now. First few days I took one pill only to see how Ill react to it. No side effects, but I felt that a cold sore healed faster. Then for several weeks I had to continue Acyclovir, but slowly decreased the dose, and now I take only one 800 mg pill occasionally, even after I had bronchitis treated with antibiotics (which guarantees cold sores after). It definitely works. A bottle is huge, 250 capsules. I have almost 200 left, it is enough for 3 more month. Ill add to this review how things will be going after another month or two. If I can get away from Acyclovir, Ill be very happy. It is damaging for joints if you have arthritis.

I bought this for a friend who had cold sores and he took some at the beginning of an outbreak and he says it went away in 3 days before blowing up to uncontrollable proportions. This is great. I have seen his bad days adn they are pretty bad. The situation usually doesnt go away for like 3 or 4 weeks but with this it went away in 3-5 days max. Since taking these he has also felt more hope and started a new diet. You have to take away l-arginine from your diet some way to help with the cold sores. So he has reduced this , you cant eliminate it completely because the arginine is an essential amino acid and your body needs it. The lysine, decreases arginine Ive read so it helps keep the cold sores at bay. Im glad it helped my friend, he was going through some tough times because of it. Try it, you never know. He has reported no side effects.

I like taking this product. I purchased this mainly for my skin. I read online the benefits of taking lysine for battling against fine lines and wrinkles as well as clearing acne and for cold sores. I thought wow this would be awesome to take since I have developed cystic acne recently. I started taking this almost two weeks ago for 3 times a day and I can see a change in my skin as I do not get as much cystic acne as before and my skin is a little more clear. Im not able to rule out this product as the cause of having less acne issues because I was also taking IntestinePro, Bioschwartz colon cleanser and the Mario Badescu buffering lotion. Maybe all the combinations of medicine and detoxing helped. Im not sure but I will continue taking this product since Lysine has many other benefits. The price is so convenient as it is only $10 and the bottle is huge consisting of 250 capsules. Worth the money.
