Overall I love this unit. You definitely do NOT want to stay any where near it while its running. Its extremely powerful and has helped me deodorize a car that was odor bombed by a dealership against my wishes, as well as a stinky crawlspace, some old clothes I pulled out of storage, and even a new mattress. It doesnt work miracles, and may take multiple treatments before it has a significant impact, but its worked better than carpet cleaners, steamers, coffee beans, baking soda, enzyme cleaners, and just about anything else Ive tried. Ive only had two problems with it: 1. It had an extremely strong paint odor to it when I received it. So potent Id need to run it a second time if I left it powered off in a room for too long after application. The smell did fade eventually, but it spent the first two months being stored on a screened porch when not in use due to this issue. 2. It has no delay on the timer. Given the amount of ozone it puts out, this can actually be dangerous if you need to seal up a vehicle or tape off the gap around a door to prevent it from leaking into the surrounding rooms. A one or two minute delay option would be really nice.

I purchased the ‘high capacity’ version of the Enerzen air purifier, and it definitely lives up to its name. A little time goes a long way! I put this in a medium sized bedroom (about 10 foot by 15 foot) for about an hour and a half. Before I even opened the door to get the windows opened up, I could smell the scent of the ozone from the hallway. It almost smells like you literally bleached the air. It would not be a great idea to use this high capacity unit in a smaller home that couldn’t be ventilated properly, but oh my god does this thing work! It resets your rooms back to neutral so that you can use whatever fragrances you choose. I highly recommend this for musty old attics or bedrooms that don’t get used often. You could definitely set this to clean the air in your kitchen after cooking something with lingering odors, but do NOT use this around people or pets. This thing might also kill your plants, so I’d remove those as well. Buy this purifier, it’s the one you’re looking for if you want to BLEACH the air.

Cleaned interior, put Lysol through HVAC a system, cleaned/conditioned leather, added 8 Bamboo charcoal filters and still the funky smell persisted. Did (3) fifteen minute ozone treatments followed by doors opened and outside for an hour. WOW what a difference. Odors reduced by 90-95%. Once in a while, I can still detect a slight drift of odor. Will probably do a 4th treatment with truck running and HVAC in recirculate mode. Also, used it on our Jeep Wrangler, where dog odors were noticeable. Not anymore, no odor at all after (2) fifteen minute treatments. Unit appears to be rugged. Timer has a solid mechanical feeling. Fan moves enough air. Red pilot light handy for looking from outside of vehicle to check if cycle is complete. Lastly, I went to Oion website and ordered a spare ozone plate. Found out it was made in Japan and not that Chinese junk. Not many manufacturers backup their products with spare parts and service.

So far so good, it seems to be getting rid of the mold and mildew odors, in my basement and my AC ducts, but it does leave a very unusual, but more palatable odor, for quite some time after running it? I recommend this #888 unit, over the others because for an extra 20 bucks, you get 50% more coverage according to their specs. Hopefully they really are working on straightening out their specs on their Amazon page, as they are very confusing and really only relate to the #777 model! They say they have updated the timer switch on all of their models, which was a major negative comment prevalent throughout the reviews. However, I dont really think the hold option that they put on every model but #888, is a good idea! I can just see some idiot going on vacation for a week and leaving it on for a week and burning the house down? PS: make sure you evacuate the house for at least an hour longer than you set the timer for, even if you are running it in the basement and are upstairs!

On my second use in vehicles, working good so far

We have an old commercial building with a damp basement from when a heavy rain leaks in through the ground, so the odor is generally musty. We run multiple dehumidifiers which greatly helps on the moisture content, but not the smell. I originally bought 2 of these units but after using one for a couple of overnight cleanings, I returned the second one because one unit does the job. I set the unit to run for an hour or two in a basement room when we leave for the night. The next morning there may be a slight ozone odor in the first floor, but it usually dissipates by the end of the day. There are two rooms that I would say had stubborn odors. This unit has been remarkable at making a difference in those rooms and the entire basement environment has been greatly enhanced. I now use the unit on a maintenance schedule of two to three nights a week for 60 to 90 minutes run time. This unit puts out a LOT of ozone and you will notice it immediately after it starts running. The amount of ozone requires the space to be unoccupied when running. I highly recommend this unit.

Excellent product! The previous owners of our home were heavy smokers and they smoked inside the home at that! From day one weve been renovating and we have ripped out all the carpet, painted all the walls, changed all the outlets, new fans and fixtures, etc. After about 6 months of living here though we noticed in the bathrooms (probably because of the steam) and in the garage that we started to smell a little lingering smoke stench. Nothing seemed to work very well with removing that smell and we started getting worried that maybe we had grown accustomed to it, or worse yet that we began to smell like it. We finally decided to purchase this ozone machine just to see if it would make a difference, and the results were immediate! We put it in our garage and shut the door, along with 2 other doors in the laundry room. Even with all 3 doors shut, we could still smell the ozone fresh smell come all the way up to our second story in the complete opposite side of the house. Within 30 minutes our entire house (and the particular trouble areas) were drastically better. Our house is a 2 story, 2400 square foot house, and this has hit it all no matter where we place it. For the price and quality, i cant recommend it enough. If you are needing to eliminate bad odors, get it!

This worked wonders! My mother-in-law has a cabin, but the people who lived in it smoked inside the cabin for years. Now she has taken the cabin back and wants to use it as her second home. We used this and it has helped clear out that stench!! It is amazing what that little machine could do!!
