I first got custom whitening trays about fourteen years ago - right after I had my braces removed. I have used just about every gel from several dentists. All of the gels have been far less than 35% and of course took a lot longer per treatment (usually overnight) and many more treatments than this product at 35%. And the gels cost SEVERAL times more from a dentist. One can achieve the same results as this 35% product, but it will take much longer, and will cost much more. There is a balance between the percentage of carbamide peroxide and gum irritation, however - and it varies from person to person (the irritation, that is). But here is what I have found. If I floss my teeth once a day and brush them two to three times a day and use a fluoride rinse Act at night, I can use the Opalescence 35% for one hour per treatment in custom trays. Even after one hour, I can see clear results. If my teeth are still too dim I can use it every day until I get the results I want. I know (sort of) if I have over done it because my dentist will tell me my teeth are too white and off his colour chart. I never tell him this, but I think his teeth are dim and stained. (Sorry if that is mean.) My tips: Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Floss once a day and use Act fluoride rinse at night and use THIS gel. This gel is the best I have tried. It works quickly. Short treatment, few treatments. If you cannot tolerate an hour; use the recommended half hour. I dont have sensitivity, but if you do, switch to Sensodine sensitive teeth toothpaste and use the Opalescence less frequently, for a shorter time or both. Also, stop doing those shots of straight Bourbon, because that compounds the irritation to your gums. I vacillate about how often to touch up my teeth - so I asked another Amazon reviewer. Anyway, that is what works for me and I hope this helps you. A bright smile makes an awesome first impression. And second, third... Cheers, Dan

This product is completely effective and easy to use. When I saw my dentist for whitening this was the product he gave me to use. I purchased the 35% which is definitely the way to go. You only need to wear your trays for 30 to 60 minutes. You only need a drop on each of the front teeth (no need for the back teeth) top and bottom. I can easily get 4+ applications out of one tube. If you are only getting two to three applications as recommended then you are using WAY too much. You will see the most results in the first few days. After that they get whiter just a little more each time. Well worth it in my opinion.

These whiten more in one 45 minute session than a week of using those white strips! It can burn if too much is used and it gets on my gums, but I remedy that by applying the gel to the bottom of my retainer, and the products coats my teeth from the bottom up after I insert my retainer. I’m on my second purchase (5th tube) and I can’t see myself ever going back to white strips!

pros: I love that it works so well. SENSITIVITY APPROVE! I’m really sensitive to the point that if I drink cold water my teeth hurt really bad I left this product on for 20 mins and I was fine expect for my bad gum application. Only 10 minutes with the product on and you really can tell the difference. You can do multiple sessions if you know how to apply the product. (The pictures above was my first trial) Cons: it burn if you apply on your gums so make sure you know how to apply it or it will burn you but only the first 5 minutes. Once you remove it the burn gum will dismounted and it goes away within an hour as you can see in the last two pictures.

As a red wine and coffee lover, it’s hard to keep my teeth as white as I would like. I have done a total of 4 applications and I’m very pleased with the results!! I do notice some mild/moderate sensitivity for about 12 hours after an application but it’s nothing unbearable. There’s a bit of a learning curve when putting the gel into my trays. But it’s getting easier each time. I’m now putting less gel in the trays and still getting very effective results. Goodbye crest white strips, hello opalescence!

These are quite expensive but actually get the job done. All it takes is 15-20 minutes for super white teeth. I usually get the 10% bleaching product from my dentist & use them overnight. These definitely do the job much better.

You need to have a tray or a retainer to use the gel. Use only a minute amount because it will irritate your gum if you use too much. It does make your teeth sensitive, so I am only using it once/week. My teeth was pretty white to start with but this gel help rid of surface stains. I use one syringe for 3 whitening sessions, so it’s not a bad deal. Highly recommended.

This stuff works well and I wanted to give people a tip on how to get rid of tooth sensitivity. The reason your teeth get sensitive or hurt is because the whitening removes the minerals from the enamel. My sensitivity was extreme. Id get those infamous zingers even with crest whitestrips. There was no way I was going to try something this strong. I ended up getting invisalign and whitening is highly recommended to make the final results that much better so my dentist told me how to stop the pain. You need a high quality toothpaste that will remineralize your teeth. I bought fluoridex sensitivity relief from my dentist. I believe sensodyne pronamel probably will as well since its marketed for remineralizing. I would compare the active ingredients or try to get the fluoridex. After you do the opalescense treatment then immediately put the toothpaste in the trays and leave that on your teeth for 30 minutes as well. This will remineralize your teeth. I have zero sensitivity now when I do the whitening treatments.

This works good point blank. These comments had me skeptical but I knew it was because they simply just didn’t read instructions, or have never whitened before so they don’t know how strong it can be and I’m pretty sure 35% is the strongest. So if you haven’t done those then you should stop writing bad reviews saying it’s fake ruining it for everyone else. I have retainers from having Invisalign and I put the whitener in the teeth of my tray so it won’t be on my gum line. I had gotten a whole bunch of it on my gums but I decided to let it sit there and test out if it would turn my gums white. 30 minutes later, teeth look actually pretty white considering it was a one time thing and my teeth were getting a little yellow (I used to whiten 4 years ago, I never vaped until now and I don’t drink coffee). My gum was a little irritated where the product got on my gums but it went away after a while it wasn’t unbearable. Will rebuy again!
