> 3 dayHad virtually no settings for adjusting the picture angle. No vertical lense shift, no corner correction. These should be basic standard features in any projector over $500. Picture was ok. Dont buy this. I tried to go mid-tier price range and wasted my time and ended up splurging on a $1500 one to find one that had the most basic inputs and screen adjustment settings... best of luck to you in your search

> 3 dayDo not buy. Sound and picture will be on a delay from each other. The audio is only available though a 3.5M Jack. Can only play audio in analog not digital. Cannot connect to a sound bar. The customer service is not helpful. Tells you to go to a website.

> 3 dayThis Optoma projector has GREAT picture quality. Compared to my last projector this is way more silent, brighter, and quality is immense. The only downside I can give for this project is it gets very hot around the bottom and doesnt have the 120hz option youd expect to find easily. Besides that it gets a big image from afar but up close it lacks compared to cheaper projectors Ive had.

Greater than one weekWas looking forward to this projector but right out the box I plug it in and turn it on only to find an instant error message saying that the fan is locked which means that it automatically turns itself off to avoid over heating. In order to fix it it says to send it to a repair center or I can try and take it apart and do it myself to get the fan going again. Not what you want for a multi-hundred dollar projector right out the box. I’m sure it looks great if it was working but a non working projector gets 1 star. Ridiculous.

Greater than one weekI loved my old Optoma projector so when it died, I purchased this one to upgrade in a similar price range and quality. The machine is beautiful and the picture quality is fantastic, however - the design is absolutely non-sensical. On the back of the machine there are two legs but only one of them is adjustable, the other is fixed. So if you want to adjust the angle of the image to your wall, good luck, your only option is a lopsided picture because only one legs height can be adjusted. The other leg is fixed, you cant screw it in or out to adjust height. If someone can explain to me how this is sensible design, Id love to know. I am in disbelief. I also reached out to Optoma support to inquire about this, and I was not given any solution or reasoning, just a yea thats weird design, but I dont know why and its not my job to know, Ill pass it along to the team. Lol. What a joke.

> 3 dayHusband and I bought this to replace a similar Optoma DLP projector that we had for ~6 years. For the same price point now, this one is way brighter. We used to have to wait until dark to see anything properly on a projector, but this one is still super clear in the middle of the day (barring direct sunlight of course). That aspect alone is worth the upgrade for us, because we can get way more use out of it. The picture is very good; colors are bright and accurate. I also love the focus knob; since its so big, it offers very fine control and its easy to get it focused perfectly. The only cons I have are small: (1) It takes a really long time to turn on and switch inputs compared to other projectors Ive had. Not a big deal, just a little annoying. (2) No dust filter! I dont know why Optoma doesnt think dust filters are necessary. Apparently they only include them in dusty climates, whatever that means. Without one, dust will collect in the projector and make it more likely to overheat and have parts break down (thats what happened to our last one multiple times). If you are tech savvy enough, you can open the projector up every so often and vacuum the dust out to make sure the projector lasts a long time. Also just make sure you place it in a well-ventilated spot / not right up against a wall and definitely not in an enclosed space like a cubby shelf. Dont just rely on the projector telling you when its too hot, something could be damaged or starting to melt a little before the built-in sensors go off. For future reference, if something does go wrong, dont be afraid to fix it yourself. The most common issue Ive had with DLP projectors is a bad color wheel. If your colors start flashing weirdly and you hear whirring/clicking from the projector, its probably the color wheel. You can get a new one online for <$30 and replace it yourself. Just look up a video.
