> 24 hourUpgraded a 256 to this. The case for the old drive is a hefty chunk of metal and the cable is quite (unnecessarily) beefy, but the drive itself went in and worked well. If youre at all familiar with computer disassembly, this is a trivial and worthwhile replacement. Its a pity that Apple isnt really doing anything worth buying a new Mac over!

> 24 hourThe instructions are minimal and I didnt see anything more on the companys website but if you are knowledgeable enough then this is a slick upgrade. Essentially you remove your old SSD from your MacBook using the provided screwdrivers and install it in the provided external case. Install the new SSD into your MacBook and close it back up. Plug the external drive into the MacBook through a Thunderbolt to USB 3 adapter in my case. Run the MacBooks Internet recovery to install a new copy of OS onto the new drive and the pick migrate after install to transfer the old data and programs onto the new drive. It all worked perfectly for me with no problems. The new drive is maybe 20% faster than the old one. With USB 3 the migration was fast for my 400GB of data at around 200-400mb/s.

> 24 hourDrive was easy to install in a 2012 MacBook Pro. So far it has been working like a champ and gave me the extra hard drive space I needed. This should extend the use of this MacBook for a couple more years. So far Im very pleased.

> 24 hourNow my 2013 MacBook Pro is much faster. It was easy to install but I would have liked a little more information on how to do the data transfer from my old drive to the new one. The case for the old drive is very nice. I use that drive as a Photoshop scratch disk. Im very happy.

> 24 hourSince installing I have had a lot of crashing. Something I have never had before. While I cannot contribute this drive to the problem, I have since been told by a MAC shop that these are not a quality drive.

> 24 hourHad a new Keyboard and Battery for my mid 2012 MacBook Pro Retina fitted at Mac Wave, Cape Town, South Africa (Great Service - shipped from Johannesburg on the Monday returned to me on the Thursday). Then fitted the OWC SSD 1TB (ordered from Amazon) through the OWC easy to follow video and instructions. Feel like I now have a new 2012 Macbook Pro Retina. Have to decide now whether to try a patch file to run Big Sur or to stick with Catalina.

> 24 hourDrive completely failed after 7 months of use. Now I’m screwed with a completely useless MacBook Pro that I rely on to work remotely 6 days a week.

> 24 hourMade this purchase paying a premium for a company that prides itself on Mac. I’ve built PCs, so I should be able to do a Mac SSD hard drive update. However, when I finally got my info transferred. It’s not comparable to upgrade to BIG SUR. Mac flags the drive as a incomparable third party, they had a make shift work around in the past but it doesn’t work with new IOS. Drive also gets really hot, for a MacBook Air the hard drive is right on the back case and you can feel the heat on you lap. Poor support with SSD drive. They brag on comparability and sell a premium. However, it says third party device not comparable. Wait times are hours long and tech team tried to find ways to deny providing service stringing you along to give up. AVOID THIS SELLER !! Finally, one screw did not fit on the external SSD, so I asked for a replacement and they stalled and said I they could not help, with typical excuses.
